I've been posting here for a little while now, and never posted to this thread.  I'm Mike, 26, white, BRN/BRN, no kids,  and just got married.  I bought my GS new in 2001, the week the dealer got the new shipment from the factory.  I was really excited about the new styling so I bought one.  1 week after finishing the MSF rider course my mom knocked over my bike in the driveway.  Anyway, my bike wasn't too bad, just slight cosmetic damage on the instruments and a bent handlebar.  I didn't ride it for a few months.  Then one day I decided to fix'er up and got hooked on mods.  I thought about racing for a while, but my wife hates motorcycles.  I'm just happy she let me keep riding without too much fuss.  I am moving to Mountain View on July 14th and I'm pretty excited about it.  The weather is awesome there, and I'm am closer to all my favorite roads.  My bike is on Page 7 of the Wall of Fame.

My name is Ryan. I am a 25 white male from Chicago, IL.   I have owned my 1990 GS for 4 years.  I love it.  I just put on the Gimbel full fairing and gave her a new paint job!  She looks great! (I will post pic in Wall of Fame soon).  I am a Business Developer for a distribution company in Chicago.  I have a wonderful girlfriend who I love very much.  I have a pic posted in the Members Mugs.  It is of me and my girlfriends daughter, Kaylie!  She is my other love.... Well, that about sums up my life.... Later People!

This is kinda ironic...
My wife hates motorcycles also but tolerated my street riding for the first few years we were married.  Then it got to the point where she couldn't stand it any more.  The compromise we came to was that I would agree to stop riding on the street if she let me go racing!!  So here are, I've been racing my GS (& a couple other bikes) for over 10 years now but I've only ridden on the street a handful of times in that period.

BTW, the logic that yielded this result is the conviction that racing is actually safer than riding on the street - plus there's always EMTs within sight.

Bottom line - keep riding whenever & whereever you can!  Just be careful, those cagers really ARE trying to get you.

I know they are!  I tried to explain how safe racing is compared to the street, but she doesn't get it.  Oh well, I'm still riding.

That is a really good pic, if not done by a professional it sure looks like it was.  Has a japanese style artistic feel.  Very cool and somehow a hint sultry sexyness mixed in.  I approve  :thumb:  Your web site is interesting, says last kiss in May, that can't be true  :o   I'll send rashad right over to fix that

Oh yea, welcome aboard. And welcome everyone!  May name is John I live on Uranus which is a pretty stinky place to live.  I like belching and complaining and when not sitting in my boxer shorts on the front porch exposing myself to passers by I like to squeeze zits on my fat and hairy butt  ;)   Everyone already knows all about me and if you'all really want to know where I live just do a whois lookup

Hello, I'm Richard and I'm from the Houston area.  I lived in California for most of my time in the Marine Corps but I am back in Texas.  I don't really care for riding on the street and spend most of my street time on the race track or on a private "practice track".  I currently have several bikes.  A picture of a few of them is on Joris' website.

1989 GS500e - decked head (.050") custom exhaust, awesome reworked forks, GSXR adjustable rear shock, braided brake lines

1994 GS500e - GSXR forks, GSXR wheels, NSR250 bodywork (needs painted still), soon to receive the spare SV650 motor

2001 GS500e street bike "most likely to be for sale soon" bought on Ebay, will most likely get one of James' race tail sections

1999 Super Hawk, Yosh race pipes, minor engine mods, street legal, kind of for sale also

2000 SV650 race bike - Marchesini front wheel, GSXR forks, Sharkskinz bodywork, Falicon crank, new cams, overbored, M4 full exhaust, Scotts damper, double bubble windscreen

2000 SV650 race bike - GSXR forks, Ohlins rear shock, aluminum subframe, Yosh full system, work in progress

1985 CR125 dirt bike, ugly

Hey there, long time listener, first time caller.....  I'm what'd you could call a message board voyeur!

I'm a 27-yr-old west coaster (yeah PNW) working in the DC area, via PA,  indefinitely--hopefully not too much longer (been here for 3 years already :?  ).  Got my GS about a month ago and love it.  Caught the bug last year, but blew my knee in June, took me out for the year.  Passed my MSF course just last week and now am fully licensed to ride in large parking lots!

Thought I'd finally post, so when I start asking stupid questions you know who I am :)

Yeah, yeah, no pics...be easy on the rookie.

Thanks!

The "acoust-" comes from being an acoustical engineer--my academic focus was structural/architectural acoustics, however, my specialty is underwater acoustics (naval applications).

The "-imate" comes from being a competative Ultimate Frisbee player.  Basically, I work to afford my travelling/competative career.
