Reaper.Rider

Hi I'm Alex,

18 year old college student enrolled in Police Foundations at Humber but transferring to Durham College when I move to Whitby on the 20th.

Just bought a brand new 07 Black GS500F and will be riding on the 26th. Have ridden a little bit (Parking lots) but not exstensively. Family has bikers in it, uncle has 2 harleys and my cousin has a gixxer 600. I've got all my gear, Icon helmet, gloves, alpinestar boots and an icon timax jacket so I'm just waiting on the bike.

Glad to meet you guys!

centralozzy

G'Day,
My Name is Outback AL.
I live in Alice Springs Australia & run Motorcycle tours from www.centraloz.com
I spend 2 years riding GS500E's as a Medical Courier for a Private Pathology company in Melbourne, hence my liking of the GS500!
Just the other day I had the opportunity to buy a 1992 GS500E-N off a Mate of mine for $500!
I have just spent a few more bucks on new tyres, chain/sprockets etc. & Rego (Road Tax?) so now it's on the road.
I just realized I forgot to take a picture....& I have just lent it to a mate who's bike is in pieces.
It's a real nostalgia trip for me to have this bike....I Love it!!
I have learned a few things from this most excellent site, but now I want an Ignition advancer kit which they no longer make.
Cheers. AL

Berowra

Hello.  My name is Vince (42) and I live in Berowra (God's own country, land of milk and honey, and all that) in the north-western end of Sydney, Australia.  I am lucky to have a beautiful wife and two kids (boys) and am an electrical engineer, come pre-sales engineer.

I am buying a GS500, new as a commuter, as work will be moving to North Ryde (about 28 km from home) in July and the traffic is shocking.  I am getting a Givi E350 with Givi rack (for my laptop and suit) and A200 screen for a little deflection.  I used to ride to work about 24 years ago on a Z200, but let my licence lapse when I bought a car.

I am now back as a learner and will go for full licence once I have the bike run-in.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you - love the site and the people - the site has already been useful.

i love this board/web site and the great people who make it possible.  they are a wealth of information and great advise.

28 yr old Commercial Pilot and Police officer, living in Ontario Canada a few hours from Niagara Falls. First bike was a 1984 (Red) Honda Night Hawk 750S. I just picked up my naked 07 GS on May 13/07 and so far I'm having a blast. Bought the GS because of its simplicity, proven reliability and reduced insurance cost. It's too bad the season is only about 4-5 good months where I live.  I like the size of the GS and this is likely why I like how it handles too. I use the bike mostly for recreation and a bit for commuting but the drive to work is too short. Have a great summer. Safe riding.

Hello Everyone,
Long time gawker, first time poster.  I am a 29 yr old male.  Just bought my new 2006 GS500F, the blue/white one.  I bought my GS two weeks ago, and already have over 700 miles on it.  I feel this bike is going to go well into the thousands of miles.  I found your how-to's very informative, and have already performed the fenderectomey...LOL    I will try to post some pics of my bike, but for right now its just the basic factory settings.  Well minus the rear fencer and all those douchie reflectors.  I am looking into installing some LED's for turnsigals, and wil try to remember to take pics once complete.   Cant wait to meet some of you!

Thought I'd put the 1st post on this forum here.

I ride around the San Francisco Bay Area, did my 1st Doc Wong ride with Scratch in Group 2. Cornering Confidence I think. I remarked that I like the purple color on the bike. If mine came stock like that, I'd probably keep it. I mostly hang around SBR. Anyway, I'll get to my posts.... I wonder if people actually look at this thread.

Good day folks. Just because I don't ride a modern, cool, sharp tailed, blade like, full-fairing bike... means nothing... though if I could afford for both worlds...
But modest and naked bikes have character.

edit: sorry, I tend to edit.
