I would like to sell my GS. It is just a great motorcycle, fun to ride. Good for beginners, perfect for veterans.

Summary: Excellent condition. Runs great. 16000 miles. Naked converted. Located in Tallahassee, Florida. $2250.

Reason to sell: I am leaving the U.S. this summer. I will go back to my home country, Japan.

History: I am the second owner. I bought this bike on July 2006 and the mileage was 800 miles at that time. The first owner was a beginner and it seemed he just wanted to try and then gave up. Obviously he laid down this motorcycle at least once, resulted in a minor cosmetic damage on engine cover (see a red arrow in a pic). I did naked conversion in the summer of 2006, inspired by AlfaFire (You are the man!). I proudly declare that I never laid down for the last 2 years, adding 15000 miles on it.

Condition: No mechanical problem, no accident, never been wrecked. Always garage kept. Oil and filters have been changed as a manufacture recommended. Needless to say, clear title in hand. A couple of mods such as:
A round reflective headlight from 2nd generation SV650.
Engine guards.
Bulbs in speed and taco were replaced with LED.
New battery (March 2008)
New rear brake pad (January 2008)
Also, I throw in several items (see the last pic). Oil change kit including reservoir, funnel, new filter, 2 new studs (Yes, I was a member of stud breakers!). Helmet (L size) and additional new visor. Clymer repair manual. Heavy duty U-lock and keys.

The bad: Only one drawback is that new owner needs to get a new rear tire soon.

I advertised this bike on a local craigslist for $2500 2 days ago. I got a lot of inquiries today, but I am not sure how they are serious. In this forum, I would like to ask $2250. The bike has been used for commuting and Sunday morning ride-out. I enjoyed a lot with my GS. I hope that new owner will have the excitement of riding this GS, just like I did. Please PM me or send an email to (day7426@yahoo.com).

Yes, I sold fairings here one year ago...Are you S*****h!? <------ Shhhhhh incognito ...
Thank you for buying at that time! I did not notice you changed your name.

Unfortunately, my packaging skill does not work on my *entire* GS this time...Or, should I try?

Ooops, I am sorry.

Hmmm, if The Buddha like my packaging, I could try packaging my GS and shipping them to Japan. I know Jpananese custom is tough to deal with, but it may be worth trying...Well, let me think about it. Riding GS in Japan...that souds really cool. If I go for it, I will withdraw this sale.

Import cost from FL to Japan is $5000, including all custom paperwork and domestic transportation. Not really bad.
I found, however, that GS does not pass current emission test. This is really disappointing.
Indeed, big-4 manufacturers have less line-up in the market in Japan, due to the tough emission constraint started 2 years ago.

might have to use an escrow service for that, there is the potential of a lot of $$$ going in both directions, ( plus import costs etc )

Wow! that's a great deal. If I hadn't just bought an 05 for $2600, I'd be all over it, even though I'd have to fly in to ride it home (back to Cape Cod).  Good luck. I got an F, but really want to convert it. It would be nice to have a pre-converted bike.
