I ride a 07 gs500f and just hit 1000 miles today.
I rode for over to hours in kind of wet weather today, twice, and each time is smelt like something was burning down around the oil cooler, is this normal?
And how bad on the bike is doing things like popping the clutch and constantly staying high in the revs.

also is upgrading the rear wheel to accommodate a bigger tire worth it if the front tire stays the same width. I noticed today that my friends zx-636 front tire is wider than my rear

For the Burning , Have a look , and keep a eye on it , i cant think why the oil cooler would feel like its burning , Remember ur Extremely Hot downpipes are theyre , maybe something got caught through the faring and caught ,. a plastic bag smells nasty , burning , Could be it . Is it the first time That u noticed it?

http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=25426.0     That is the Katana wheel swop . u can fit a 160 tyre at the largest on the stock swingarm , with out any real Modification ,

My friends Cbr 600 has a 160 On it ,      A Zx6 takes a 180/55/17     So id Imagine thats what the zx636 has . with a B12 Swing Arm, u can fit up to a 200 tire , Or a Early GSXR Swingarm, but needs more mods , a 160 is plenty on the bike

Smell could be oil contaminated water spraying up off the road onto the headers.Diesel vehicles are bad to leave oily residue on road surfaces.I'm not speaking or passenger cars, mainly utility trucks.

Keeping a stock 110-70 on front with a wider tire on back is fine.Just don't mix bias ply tires with radial tires.I have 120-60-17 front and 160-60-17 on the rear.I am running a Bandit 600 rear wheel.I honestly don't recommend the B6 wheel unless you understand the mechanics of the sprocket carrier, captured spacers, and brake contact area.I had to have some parts machined to fit everything in the GS swingarm. For more info PM me.Back to the 160 tire some fit some don't.The chain will rub the tire on most of them.It did on my Shinko 005 advanced tires.Dunlop 208/209 will not fit inside the swing arm.I think the best combo is 110-70-17 and 150-70-17.For better cornering stick to the stock 130-70 on the rear.Get sport bias ply tires or sport radials if you can find them. The main reason most of us up tire size is for radial tires and a better selection of sport tires.Radial sport tire are lighter than bias ply tires. At least tha'ts been my experience.
