hey guys, i rode my bike to work, then about 4 hours later tried to start it with choke, fired right up, but something gelt weird....it usually gets to like 6000rpm on full choke.......well i had it on full choke and then half choke and then rpms just dropped and the bike died.....got it going with full choke again but it only reached like 3000rpm and then died....then got it going to less than 2000rpm and it died again....then it wouldnt start at all......
it makes that err jji guh err jji guh sound from the starter but the engine doesnt turn over......spark plugs are slighty browned and then ends.....i tried to start it alot bc all these ppl who were "helping" had to hear it for themselves....i think i mightve killed the battery after that.....but the whole tim ethe headlight and the neutral light etc worked....still works....
now the starter makes a "kuh" sound when u press it.....

checklist of things to check?
worse case scenarios?
i wanna go back tomorrow with a whole load of parts and just try everything.....thanks guys....

Don't bother about the battery now, it is pretty certain that it is not the battery.  Once you fix the real problem, you can worry about the battery.  The battery is not hard to recharge.

Check the obvious first.  See if there is any fuel.  Put it on prime.  Unscrew the carb drain bolt and see if there is fuel flowing out.  Check for kinked fuel hose.   Good luck.

Cheers,
e.

P.S.  Don't slag the HD guys.  They were trying to help.

Well, when MY battery died, the lights were still working. Did you bump start it correctly? You have to pull in the clutch again after the engine gets going. Hope that helps.

Somehting is blocking fuel flow...check venting or kinked hoses...and you have a blown fuse.
Cool.

i checked the fuse and it seems fine (that fuse cover is a PAIN to get off)...i did NOT know that the clutch needs to be pulled in after a bump start....how do i check the fuel stuff?
