The only really 'illegal' part of the M15 is the blasting cap.  Explosive charge is very minimal and only enough to disburse the WP.  Someone with a clean criminal record could easily obtain all the components legally and assemble one with a little bit of skill.  Of course, they would probably be getting some 'visitors' inquiring about their unusual purchases.

Here in Australia for about 70 dollars you can buy good quality disk locks with built in motion alarms (170db).

Real sensitive and will stop all but the pro's and if you were a pro with the know how to get round a motion sensitive disk lock then you would not worry about a GS500

its not a gs500 its a GSXR 750.  I have a disk lock for the time being and am going to be installing an alarm when I find and buy one I like.  Its also covered if I'm not riding it

I think someone already mentioned this but I know the Honda / Yamaha dealer near my house installs lojack for bikes.  Just a thought is it possible to wire your bike to caues an electrical shock from the battery if someone touches it?
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

I've thought about that, I am pretty sure there is another thread about that .  The trick is to wire it up and not drain the battery waiting for your mouse

Edit:  I have looked into lowjack but the closest place that would install it is 5 or more hours away ....

if you want a disc lock but are afraid of getting it try a foot peg that doubles as your foot lock.

That way if you try to take off with it still on your bike you will notice because your footpeg will be missing

I've got a disk lock already cause i wanted to have one, it has the idiot cord that helps you remember to remove it to prevent premature landings .  That is a pretty nifty idea though, i just don't think i would want that as a footpeg on my GSXR.
