"Bad Dog" -- A Paranoid Fantasy?

This session of the 13th Human Rights Tribunal of the Feminist Soviet of Canada will begin. Ms. Rutherford- Armstrong is the Crown Prosecutor.  The Judge is Madam Chegundi Tsunami, woman of color. The Defendant is Henry Makow of Winnipeg, white male.

Rutherford-Armstrong:  "Mr. Makow-- you are accused of saying "bad dog" to your pet, Raffi at 10.25 a.m. on May 22, 2008 at the corner of Maple and Higgins.  How do you plead?"

Makow: "Guilty with explanation, Madame. "

Rutherford: "And what is your explanation?"

Makow: "I'm trying to teach Raffi not to chase cats. He practically pulls my arm out of its socket when he takes off after them. He has pulled me off my bike and broken more than one leash."

Rutherford: "A witness, a Ms. Slattern-Termagant reported that there was a hint of impatience in your voice. Is this true?"

Makow: "Yes, it's possible."

Rutherford:  "Do you know how hard that is on a dog's self esteem? Angrily chastising him as "bad"? Withdrawing affection?"

Makow: ""I was just trying to train him. I still loved him."

Rutherford: "Mr. Makow, have you any professional credentials in the field of dog training?"

Makow: "No."

Rutherford: "Then, you wouldn't know how to train a dog, would you?"

Makow:  "Well I think I can figure it out."

Rutherford: (shaking her head in disgust)  "Your Honor, I want the Court to note Makow's arrogance, typical of someone who has feasted on the spoils of Patriarchy all his life.

We've had other reports of Makow leaving his dog outside a supermarket. When he comes out, the dog is happy and jumps on him.  Makow coldly spurns these friendly overtures. This causes severe stress and self-doubt in the animal."

Makow: "May I explain? The dog has sharp claws and scratches right through my clothing. I know his intentions are good and I try to ward him off as gently as possible."

Rutherford: "But you are rejecting him, are you not?"

Makow: "No, I don't want him to scratch me. When a white male is cut, does he not bleed?"

Judge Chegundi-Tsunami: "That's enough facetiousness. I won't warn you again. You will be held in Contempt of Court."

Rutherford: "Your Honor, may I suggest that Makow is acting out of a sense of superiority to his dog that comes from having been a white male all his life?

This pattern of white man-dog inequality is the model for all inequality & oppression throughout history and is responsible for imperialism. By making an example of Makow, we can start to end imperialism.

Judge Chegundi Tsunami: "I am in complete agreement. Makow is clearly interfering with the dog's instinct to chase cats. The tendency of white males to conquer Nature is also responsible for wars and the depredation of the environment, global warming as well as the oppression of women, children, people of color, animals and insects.

Mr. Makow, you will have time in jail to ponder the nasty effect of Patriarchy on your character.  Thankfully the Patriarchy is dead. I sentence you to 30 days, and a fine of $500. Also, you must take a six-month Anger Management Course. I hope you will think twice before saying "bad dog" again.

Raffi will become a ward of the State and will be raised by professionals. Mr.Makow. do you have anything to say?"

Makow: "Yes, I don't think I can risk having a dog in the current political environment."

WTH? seems far fetched, BUT somehow i could see it happening

Yeah Yama, that was Dr. Makow's exaggerated view of what our society  will be like in the not so distant future. So politically correct that you'll get the dry heaves.
He has a PHD in Literature and I'm a great fan of his site. He "knows what is going on".........and where we're headed.
