cant burn dvds

So I have been trying to burn some dvds but cant seem to do it correctly. Before burning the dvd the movie format was converted to dvd then using express burn I burn a video dvd. once I pop it in my dvd player it says the cd does not have any play back feature. what am I doing wrong? what is the video format supposed to be prior to burning

there should be a pop up that asks you to "finalize" your burn. check and make sure you did that.  we get the same complaint all the time at the sony store...where i am not sure if i still work there or not

after burning my software auto finalizes the dvd starts with converting the movie, writting the movie then finalizing the movie this takes a good 2hrs on my cpu for nothing.

the movies are downloaded from btjunkie im not durning other dvd discs. i want to download a movie and burn to a dvd and watch on my ps2 or dvd player
