Well, Laguna Seca is just a few hours away from where I now live - so when MotoGP came to town, it was an easy decision to head sown.  We loaded up the bikes on Friday.  After pitching the tent on Fox Hill, we went off to watch the MotoGP practice.

Note the smoke from the fire in the background.

Mmm.  Corkscrew.

Supersport guys using all of the track.

Then we hopped on my bike, leaving one to watch the campsite, and headed down the coast.  Thick fog at the coast, blue skies just a little inland.

Awesome pics -- and what a track!  I wish the Indy cars still ran Laguna.  They had some awesome races there for many years.

Thanks!  Yeah, Laguna is great fun.  I'd love to run it.  My GS is too loud, though; I'd have to either run my FZ6 or share m'boy's SV1K/GSXR hybrid.  They're serious about noise restrictions down there.  :(

Don't feel bad about the noise, my last trackday the only thing louder was a guy on superhawk with the exhaust chopped off at the collector under the engine.

Fortunately I still have my stocker and the slipon for the 954 is 3 bolts and a gasket to swap.

Friend of mine has class on wednesday nights, the highway ramp I rail through going out to eat on wednesdays is 3/4 of a mile from the building he's in. 9 times out of ten he can tell it's me. his class is on the 12th floor and not on a side facing the highway.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

It's not about feeling bad - they have a dB monitor and will meatball you and bring you in if your exhaust is too loud.  And 'too loud' is 92dB at a sound station about 50ft from the track.  It's pretty much stock-exhaust-only.

From what I have read just about anything not stock on a bike in twinkieland is illegal. I don't know if my stocker would even pass it's supposed to be 88 DB at 5000 rpm, don't remember what the EPA's measuremnt distance is. But when running up around 10k I think it'd break the 92 DB mark.

My bike was tagged at 105db from about 50' off track at a track day, fortunately that track doesn't have a sound limit rule since it's in a very rural area.

Have you been ontrack at Laguna? I got to run 4 hotlaps in a GTP corvette cup car there back in 87 the the top of the corckscrew looks like your getting ready to fall off the end of the earth :o
