heya's.

i recently bought a '92 gs500. i have since discovered that the carbies need rebuilding. it seemed ok when i took it for a test ride but since i bought it its been running like crap. i was wondering if anyone has rebuilt the carbies themselves, and if its doable by someone who's not a highly experienced mechanic (dunno if it counts for much, but i recently rebuilt my chainsaw carby). i would like to save some money if possible. i've had a mechanic say it may take up to a week and $500 for him to do it. i'm thinking maybe i could take the time to rebuild them and then take the bike to the mechanic to tune them up...?

also, anyone know of a second hand gearsack rack and/or bag for sale in the canberra/syndey area?

cheers!   :)

hey, rebuilding the carbs arent  a big deal if you know what youre doing. Get a manual and use the diagrams in that.
OR you could always just send them to the buddha

really man its super easy

18 bucks the best thing to buy for your bike

i think i pulled my carbs off appart and cleaned the jets and got it back on the bike in about 2 hours minus the time it took to let everything soak in parts cleaner to clean the road grime off the carbs.

but really they are WAY easyer to work on then you think

if you REALY don't want to do it PM the budda he probably has a set of carbs cleaned and ready to go i forget what he charges i want to say like 70 somthing plus shipping and he send you carbs and you send him the old ones but eather way its WAY cheaper then 500 for a shop to do it
