Fork oil leak

I have fork oil splattering on the front of my gas tank.  Would this be caused by the fork seal or that o-ring on the cap?  This october I plan on fixing it up but I'm leaving to Japan for a month and don't have time to do it now.  Is it still ok to ride?

The best way to find where a leak is coming from is to clean it and observe.

When replacing fork seals are the frok seals the only think you need to
replace?  Or do you need to replace any o-rings or washers or any thing with them?  I'm sure both of them is leaking and that oil sure isn't
good for paint.

I had to replace my fork seals after only about 8000kms of riding.  I replaced the fork oil seals and the dust seal only.  The o-ring seemed to be Ok and I reused it.  So far I have not had any further leaks.  You may want to replace it since you have the forks apart.  Of course all the other parts should be inspected for wear as well ie. bushings.  

Consider also putting in progressive fork spring at this time.  They are about $100 but it's worth every penny.  The springs give a much firmer feel to the bike and stops the front end from bottoming out.  You will be surprised to see how wimpy the original springs are compared to progressive! Those damn things are a safety hazard!

If you were to err on the side of safety, you should not ride the bike.   Use your own judgement if you think you are still getting good dampening.  Sounds like alot of oil leaked out if it is splashing on the tank!
