Looking for a low budget DIY

Anyone have any low budget diy mods for an 06F? I've already done led lighting, springs, sprocket, fenderectomy, clipons, wheel stripes, dog bones, rejet, lunchbox, and exhaust. I'm looking for something creative that maybe some of you have done. I've searched for hours and can't really seem to come up with anything. Wether it be performance or visual... any ideas?

I dunno, mod what you want to mod, not just cos someone says so.

Really, I'm looking for something that I could go to home depot and pick up like 15 bucks worth of random stuff and make something unique. I have plans for a kat rear wheel, I just have been dumping too much money into my suby to afford it right now. I know with customization the sky is the limit, I just need a jumpstart I guess. I'm sure someone out there has some really cool things they have done for little money

yeah, go naked, send me all your stuff so I can make my bike a faired and I'll send you all the stuff needed to go naked.   O0

You know, I've been thinking about losing the fairings, but I haven't made up my mind about it yet. Swapping might be a good idea, but I bought the bike with less than 600 miles on it and the p.o. dropped it on both sides. There's some slight rash and very small cracks but not too bad. I've been thinking about giving it a flat black paint job too.

lewismug

Hey, rash and cracks can be fixed.  I'm to the point that I have been thinking of making a template out of cardboard or foam and then laying some fiberglass out.  Having never worked with fiberglass at all, it's not an option I really want to explore right now.  The wind kicks my butt on the interstate and I like the look of the faired bikes better anyway.  If you decide, lemme know.....for cereal!!!!

Yeah, I would add an oil cooler to the engine if that's possible.  I dunno.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. The title is low budget mods and I get a suggestion to add a turbo. Haha. Thanks for the input though. And I don't think the poor little motor would like a shot of nitrous very much. I think itd be like giving a 10 year old a bag of cocaine... bad idea.
I might do something with the windscreen. It is very plain.

mayhem

I painted my windscreen flat black and it looks pretty sweet.

there is a crazy bastard :cookoo: on youtube that turbocharged his gs there is a bad video of it idling and one more of him doing a burnout that would be a pretty crazy mod and very doable also there is a company that makes a electronic supercharger that runs on 12v and makes 3psi of boost they are called eRAM superchargers .... have fun

Dupli-color anodized blue paint for your forks and can. I dunno. I haven't seen that yet.
Current project:
Mmotos full body kit (YOU DONT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM... READ MY THREAD BOOT STATE UPDATE)
K&N Lunchbox
Buddah's jets
CBR F2 rearsets
Ducati pass pegs (Modified)
Kat rear wheel
Carbon Fiber Exhaust Can, possibly shortened and relocated
And so on......

DeeJRedE

eRAM is a bunch of garbage. The fan cant keep up with the speed of the motor sucking in air and it basically blocks airflow. Ive also read about people who have had fins break off the fan and get sucked in the engine.

ambisinister

How 'bout a powered fan on the oil cooler to keep engine temp down. Maybe with a thermostat so it won' get damaged on the highway?

Cosmetic:
Paint calipers hot pink or the color of your choosing.

Comfort:
Lower footpegs if you are tall.  See if the Buell Lightening footpegs can be made to fit.  They sit an inch or so lower.
Lower the seat if you are short by shaving away some of the foam.
