I reupholstered my seat for a 1996 GS500e.  Here are before and after pics and a how-to

I've been quoted $80-$120 at auto upholstery shops to get this seat reupholstered so I decided to do it myself.

Requirements:
Vinyl or whatever material you wish to use
Flat head screwdriver
Pliers
Staple gun, I used T50 3/8" by 5/16" long staples.
I've read using 1/4" long staples is optimum because its easier to get it flush against the seat bottom
Hair dryer

I purchased a yard of vinyl at my local fabric chain store-Joann's for $8
I used a skinny flat head screwdriver and pliers to take out the old staples.
Every time you stretch the vinyl heat it with a hairdryer
Start at the rear of the rider's seat (see pic) and you must pull the vinyl towards sideways and to the rear so the vinyl can set in the seat depression.  Otherwise the vinyl will hover over the foam in the seat.
Staple a few times on each side, and work your way forward or to the rear (your discretion) as in the pic.  I alternated a little work forward then rear....
Remember to heat the vinyl before stretching.  And when I had trouble with wrinkles, I would do the other side to give that side a break and when I came back to it, it always worked out.
As you staple around, you don't need a lot of staples, just enough to hold and go back after the job is done to go staple crazy.
Trim the excess vinyl.
My vinyl had a cotton underside and didn't want that exposed so I rolled the jagged edge section of the vinyl and sparingly stapled that section around the seat too so its cleaner finish.
