Planning a ride - kind attn LA folks

I am planning on a SD-LA-SD ride for the last week of August. I will be starting out in SD in the morning and reaching Mahou Riviera by the evening. The plan is to Avoid I5 and ride along the 1/101/coast highway with plenty of stops in between at all scenic locations.

I have not decided on what to do next.     What else is there to do? I will be there for two nights and 1.5 days. I am going mad planning out this trip. Being a avid amateur photographer, I would like to have some good shots at the end of the day  Also, recommendations are most welcome for the eat-outs. 

Please feel free in recommending the roads I should hit, Preferably a google maps link will be cool. I have not planned in on the exact dates yet, If you guys are jobless and would like join me for any part of the ride, you are most welcome.

Overall, I hope it will be 400mi of fun.
