front & rear wheel swap?

is there a direct swap matching font & rear rim setup? reading the german wiki got me wanting wider rubber front & rear. i know about the handling issues of it, but it is for more for aesthetics & possibly some stickier rubber. no big hurry, i have a new set of activ's. it would be cool to do a wheel swap when it is time for some new rubber. plus that gives me plenty of time to look for a good deal.

the front end katana swap is a good idea, then a katana rear wheel. i don't have the sizes possible off hand, but it's bigger.

the main thing is changing the front end for the much better katana stuff, and the rear shock.

already have a kat shock on the rear, along with race tech .90 springs, 15w & a fork brace on the front. really don't want to swap out the front end. looks like 99+ kat wheels front & rear that will yield a 120 front / 160 rear. the kat fronts are 3.5 in wide. is that the same as the stockers?, if so i can probably deal with the straight/swept spoke thing. the bandit 400 rim idea is good, but might be a bit harder to find.

You want to wear out the front tire, and at the same time if your brakes are about gone, and say you need fork seals - if that is the extent of what you need to do, its easier to do a kat FE swap. You fit a brace on right ... how did it improve the handling ... that improvement is all due to your ~50% reduction in fork flex. You will lose all fork flex if you do kat especially under braking. I mean twist, not flex. It will flex, but will flex straight. You'd almost wonder if something was loose or missing on the old setup.

yeah, i know the twin disk setup on the kat front end is a superior setup. just looking for a easy, semi-cheap way to get some fatter tires. i am actually 100% satisfied with my current suspension setup. it was like a new bike over stock. after setting the sag & dialing in the rear rebound & dampening. the front end is tip-top now. when i did the racetech springs, i put some new fork seals on & add sintered pads at the same time. this i just an ongoing project for me & i am running out of things to do. i started off with the 90 you see in my sig pic. in addition to the suspension i upgraded to 2001 bodywork, seat & tank. put new jardine exhaust, ignition advance, lunchbox, removed all the cali emmissions crap, twin headlight setup buell flyscrren, chin fairing, 15t sprocket, carbon fiber hugger, gold aluminum motocross bars & pegs, honda led taillight & integrated signals/mirrors. just trying to figure out the next thing to do. braided brake lines, powdercoating the frame, meatier rubber are on the short list. i am happy with the progress i am making, i had a guy in lowes parking lot last week ask me it that was new suzuki model. i told him no, it is 18 years old

Stock GS & 88-97 Kat 600/750 w/ swept spoke... front: 3" rear: 3.5"
Bandit 400 w/ swept spoke... front: 3" rear 4"
Bandit 600 w/ swept spoke... front: 3" rear 4.5" (rear has 20mm bearings)
98+ Kat 600/750 w/ straight spoke... front 3.5" rear 4.5"
99-02 SV650/S w/ straight spoke... front: 3.5" rear 4.5" (both should be the same as the 98+ Kat, I have a set but not confirmed yet)
03+ SV650/S w/ straight spoke... front: 3.5" rear: 4.5" (rear has 20mm bearings) (SV1000 may be the same as the 650)

I have seen pictures of the 98+ Kat 3.5" front wheel installed on GS forks.

that seems to be the ticket. german wiki says the front is a direct swap swap & the rear is pretty easy.
i would like to know if the 99-02 sv rims are the same as the 98+kat.
let me know when you figure that one out
