So today I had to go somewhere that was about 50 miles away, I was at 120 miles on the odometer and decided not to get gas. So when I finally got home I was at around 230 miles on the odo. I then left for work, and then home, then the shooting range. At this point I was at 260 miles and still no reserve. I then decided to go get gas. 263 miles and no reserve. I fill up and it takes 4.25 gallons. Thats 62 miles per gallon. The bike has a full supertrapp exhaust, jetted, and lunchbox filter. I love this bike!

grrr....but I wasn't even trying. I do want to raise the gearing though. I was cruising at 75-80 most of the time and rpms were up at 6500-7000.
Anyway I am very happy with the mileage considering this is what I have been getting consistently no matter how I ride.

Fuel mileage should be calculated from the average of a series of fill-ups. Due to the flat form of the tank, (the large, late model at least), the amount of fuel accepted till 'full' is variable. This explains part of the variability you'll see between several fill-ups in a row, even for the same road type and riding style. Anyway, mileage is still good in this bike, but I personally do not believe some 'record-breaking' figures reported.

Yep, I really can't complain about the MPG I get on this bike. I love it!! Instead of spending $55 a week to fill up my car, I spend $10. I still love my car, but it has not moved from my garage in days.

I consistantly get 50 mpg. 49.97 and 50.06 were my last two.

62 mpg, very nice!
