GS500 Problems

My chain is dragging on my center kick stand on my GS500, it's a 2006. The chain is pulled back and has around 1-2" of wiggle room but it's still dragging on my center kick stand. It was worse before me and my friend pulled it back. I've been told to use something to zip tie it against the frame (or where the stand hits) so that it stops it from coming all the way up since I have aftermarket exhaust and it doesn't have a bump stop... Should I do this, or can I adjust the center stand somehow?

Also my back brakes are squeeking, I put some lube around the brakes, (tin shim, pins) and it went away for a day, came back. Brake pads have a least 75% left so its not the pads that are a issue, it's metal on metal but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

Any ideas?

No, ye were told to ziptie a chunk of old tire to the centerstand to hold it below the dogbone.   

If you aren't hearing the agonizing screech of metal against metal, I'd just try a few hard stops to see if it goes away a bit.  But some brakes are just a little noisy.  Don't forget that you use a lot more front brake than rear in an ideal hard stop.

The dogbone is the two dogbone shaped pieces of metal in the rear suspension.

I'm sure you can stop the chain dragging on the stand if you ziptie the chain to the frame.

there is a rubber stopper thats suppose to be on the exhaust. my yoshi exhaust didnt have one so my center stand has the same problem. for now i just make sure my heel pushes the center stand down a lil while i ride. eventually ill get a rubber stopper or put a metal plate bolted to where the stopper should be.. that should fix your problem.

My 06 rear brakes squeal occasionally too.  Less than 5k on it and tons of pad left.  My Dad and Bro both have Suzuki cruisers and there brakes squeal every now and then too.
