This is a feeler guys.
The lines I had sold out rapidly.
Now I can get more except that I need to walk in the guy's place with the $$ ... evidently goodridge comes in from england and he has to order a quantity ... or what ever he told me earlier and somehow I mis understood and I think he got mad, and I never went back.
These lines are perfect fit for a GS. Katana - some modified banjo bolts etc - to be figured out later, but its possible.
I'd like to get a preorder going and I'll get them and send them to everyone.
Cool.

That was 40 and shipping. I dont want to entertain ... so how much is shipping type Q's ...  And $48 for the front line, what pair, we only have 1 in front, The rear is entirely diffrent and most of us dont care for better rear brakes ... it locks too easy right.

Notify on this thread, but be ready to pay up ... if it goes south, I'll refund you.

Will this be a plug-n-play type or do we need to work on it besides the actual replacement? If so I'm in.

I bought these for my gs500 , something good about living in england ,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suzuki-GS500-All-Goodridge-Braided-Hoses-Brake-Lines_W0QQitemZ160278176472QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160278176472&_trkparms=72%3A985%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Thats for front and rear   52.9725 USD

so how many is he going to have to buy to have them sold at 48 bucks?  shipping to the us , they weight not alot would be around 8 bucks i recon , so 60 bucks for front and rear?

and yea , the rear one doesnt really help things , but i think it looks cleaner that u have 2 stainless lines , when i got my kat front end , came with Goodritch stainless lines anyway
so i sold my front , still have a set of blue stainless lines around here somewhere

I dunno what their quantity is ... I may have to lure them and tell them to get so many and here is the $. Shipping them will prolly not be $8, I would guess under $5 in continental US.
If they are $60 from goodridge, I dont know if my store can sell one of those for $40 and wonder what to do with the other ... maybe the guys I buy it from need a quantity to get goodridge to break it up from they package deals ... maybe 3 years ago goodridge didn't ebay sets like these ... You know, I have galfer fittings I bought sitting in my garage ... now I cannot find just fittings from galfer at all (atleast not in the US). I dunno, I am yet to make any calls to any of the places I know for these ... I wanna have a number ready in case they ask, and I want to get it done or dropped ... Too many things in the air already.

Its definitely bolt, bleed and ride ...  :flipoff: This aint no windows crap. You guys do remember these are motorcycles right.
The line will be the same shape and length and have the same end fittings as the stock line, that is what makes all the diff between bikes.
Newer sport bikes have different ends, katana has a whole different bolt at the caliper, the older bikes were longer length, like 10-12 inches longer, newer sport bikes may be too short to go on the bars we have on ours the tube bars are the real issue here.
The idea is, you basically route it just like the stock line, then bolt it in, then fill and bleed fluid and it will work better than stock.

I'm in...it still comes with the banjo and the crush washers etc.?

Yea banjo and crush washers, not banjo bolts, though the ones I just sold had bolts ... they were like crappy and may be wrong thread.
Stock banjo bolts are very good, I'd use them over the crap you buy at auto parts place anyday.

Hey pinkgeek - we tried fitting the GSXR shock on mm7568's bike over the weekend ... we had some trouble.
You fitted it OK ? I am shaving a linkage for his bike, then I will swap it with his ... Then I can shave a linkage for you.
However with the alloy linkage of the 89-90 you may be OK. You have 89 right ? I thought you had 89 cos pronator was over to check the bars.
Yea the brake lines ... waiting for word on some stuff. 1-2 days, been busy at home (inlaws getting back to India - today) and work (new job + 82 mile commute).

OK I wanna say this is DOA.
The place cannot get premade goodridge lines any more.
As per them - I am going to have to get line and bolt on fittings - which actually can be great. But it will cost closer to $50 (thank the tanking dollar for that).

Now Premade lines VS bolt on lines.

Premade is nice and very clean looking and if you buy from a good brand (and goodridge is one of the best) it will be great. It usually wont leak past the first few times you use it, but if it does or you wreck and hit it and break a fitting ... you're sorta SOL.
Bolt on lines are a bit more clunky, and I have serious likes and dislikes here and I love goodridge here too, but hate galfer but you can get bolt on lines to fit a lot nicer through tight corners etc because you can get fittings that you can adjust atleast at 1 end (hard to explain this ... but trust me). Now these can leak with age, deterioration or accident or just plain dumb luck, but usually you can fix it sometimes on the road but always when you get home and usually you can swap out 1 fitting if its damaged in an accident or just in case of a plain leak, you can replace a $1 olive and get it back to sealing again. Personally I never had a fitting leak, ever. I have only heard of it.

Here is my thought if this is to go forward.

I'll do lines and fittings Possibly a galfer line and goodridge fittings or goodridge+goodridge or goodridge+earl ... (I dont like earls's line cos its unsheilded only, and dont like galfer fittings cos they are too delicate and tear up easy)
I'll Assemble them either a shade loose and you can tighten it after routing it, or I'll tighten it on my bike but you're gong to have some routing trouble if you have a different angle on the master cyl or a different than stock bar ...
The trouble is the last 1/2 turn of the tightening on the banjo will spin the line and a line that has over 1/2 turn of twist in it will probably kink somewhere and you have to line up to the caliper and get its banjo to lie parallel to it. That's where the adjusting on the bike comes in as well as using 1 adjustable banjo, simple wrench and tighten and then lock the adjuster down.
However mailing cost on these is ~$3 and add in a nice rip resistant envelope with bubble backing and $4 mailing cost. I am thinking at $54 I can have the bolt on ones made and mailed.
Now with bolt on lines, There is a better and cheaper way to get a Katana conversion though. Maybe $25 for it ... but its to be determined at a later time. If I get enough momentum on this.
Cool.
