its a good thing that the old wives tale that if you dream you die then you do in real life is not true.  i have about one or more a week where i die in it.  last night it was some kind of atmospheric fire storm and i was in a small wooden structure tying to take cover.  but the one i have had the most of is a nuclear explosion that i can see around 5-10 k away.  i have cover by a large rock wall.  in the time period from when i see the explosion and am waiting for it to hit i am trying to decide if i am going to go into the open to get it over with or take cover and take my chances.  sometimes i do sometimes i don't.  i have been killed by fire, nuke, sword, knife, firearm, bear, drown and shark that i can think of.

so how about u guys?  oh and how do you feel when u wake up? me i am amused and try to remember as much as i can.

I love dreams and nearly all the dreams (i can remeber) are lucid. This makes for the best dreams because its like living real life in your head. You can be whoever and do whatever you want, and its so realistic, even things youve never experienced before you can do and they are as real as anything (how you can imagine how something works or feels when you've not done it before is odd but it seems true)

However i don't dream very much, well not that i remeber, i don't sleep talk, walk, twitch or anything. This kind of sucks because i love dreams.

I did used to have a recurrent dream for a while where i repeatedly got mugged in an alley and stabbed in the lower back everytime by a group of hooded people. No matter how much i fought them i would always get stabbed in the same place in my back and it was so real it felt horrid. When i wake up tho i find it a very cool experience regardless of the unpleasant realness it is when you dream it.

well i guess it may be part of my ptsd but i fight, punch, kick, yell and swear out load in my dreams. i usually wake up.  i have punched stuff, thrown things all kinds of weird and fun stuff. as a matter of fact last night i woke up once yelling "f%$k off" and then woke up a second time punching at thin air.  i am not sure which one it was the yelling f%$k off or the punching but one of them was at my old manager at the Sony store.  he is a Chinese immigrant who is not a citizen.  he always annoyed me because he was always saying "hurry hurry" or "run".  f%$k you .  i told him i will not run and only hurry when i need to. i used to see this 110lb chink run in the store and normal people just looking at him. he also used high pressure sales tactics and i had complaints about him and products returned that did not live up to his pitch.  anyhow in the dream he had a whip type thing with a razor on the end.  i was warning him to put it down but he did not take it.  so that what when i either yelled f%$k off and woke up or was punching him and woke up....i just don't remember which.  the most annoying dreams i have is that i am amongst civilians and we are being attacked...by some unstoppable force like a vampire or werewolves. something weird like that.  i am tying to get them organized for a defence but hey are too scared or just not listening to me.  so i end up fighting the battle on my own or with only a few cooperating civilians.

hahaha bears are awesome.  But this reminds me of Lewis Black's skit about hiding under wooden desks in school in the event of a nuclear attack....

frankie, you have got some jacked up dreams man.  I don't remember my dreams very often and when I do they typically mean something to me.  Not that I'm into anything weird or foretelling but things really do happen most times that I remember dreams.  I do have my own language people tell me that I speak in my sleep.  I sleepwalk, sleep work, and try to prevent things from happening.  The most recent was somebody was actually killing someone else, and I was trying to keep their face from being smothered so I was pulling their head out of mud, and as I was dreaming it, I had grabbed my wife's wrist and started squeezing really hard.  I pulled her pillow out from under her head and threw it across the room as hard as I could, then she screamed at me and I woke up.  Weird stuff man

you gotta love dreams. i did not have those type of dreams until later in life and after a few close call, war, things like that...the not so great things in life.  but i do not let them bother me i actually love them.  i like the ones where i can fly but no one else can.  i tend to zip straight up to the stars and zoom around.  only the ones that i am trying to protect people and get them organized to defend themselves annoy me a bit.  in my dream i just can not figure out why these civilians can not get their ass's in gear to protect themselves.  they usually just run away and leave the fighting to me.

man, i only have those wild, outrageous, mind bending dreams after vacations anymore.

the wife tells me i have vivid, awesome dreams. <shrug> they just don't happen much anymore :(

i do have night mares about the kids, otherwise, no dreams unless there is a really cool life changing event prior to falling asleep.

:)

frankie- if you're dying once a week in your dreams, you're sleeping too much. sleep when you're dead, man. rock on through the night ! get out !

Lets see.  I have fell from tall things.  CLiffs, towers, hot air balloons, jets, helo's, jumping the grand canyon....on foot...I was drunk and it was a dare in that particular one.  They say when you hit the ground you die.  Ive hit it everytime, and it hurts like a Buddha Loves You! I dont understand why i feel pain in my sleep, but f%$k me it hurts.  I dont die tho.
i love the ones where Im either running super fast, like 100 mph. or where im leapign very far, like 1/2 mile.  I have yet to "fly".  Ive floated. but eh, that was it.
I used to sleep walk and piss on things.
Ive had nightmares abtou my girlfriend(errr, ex)  and her child, like bad shaZam! happening to them.  Ive had em abotu beign in iran and monitoring military assets through covert means.  I have no idea why....theyve been hitting me since 2004.
I have this reoccurign dream where Im walkign down a dirt road to a weeping willow tree and i lay in a hammock next to my ex. I had this before i knew her...freaky huh? I still get it.  makes me feel wierd now though.
i love dreams...mostly.  I hate the ones where everythgin is blurry and i cant keep focused on anything.   I wake up pissed and frustrated.

My recurring dreams are about plane crashes.  They seem to happen pretty randomly, but the strange thing about them is how real they are!  No two are alike.  Each one has been different from the ones before, and I've never found a common theme.  Sometimes they are commercial jetliners, sometimes military, sometimes small planes.  The weird ones are the slow-motion dreams, and I once had one that must have lasted an hour or more because it had about 3 or 4 different crashes.

The other kind of dream I have had isn't so much about being dead, it's more about being paralyzed.  I have had 2 of those and don't care if I never have another one.  The first time I had one, I just had this weird feeling of waking up in my bedroom, but not being able to completely wake up, and a demon was trying to get into my body.  I was trying SO HARD to wake myself up (which I can usually do with no problem), but the only sensation I had was that I was blind and couldn't move or yell or anything.   It went on for a minute or two and when I woke up, I was totally in a panic.

On those days when life is a little too much and nothing seems to be going right, I pause for a moment to ponder the wise last words of my grandfather:  "I wonder where the mother bear is?"

last night was rough on me, i did not keep my methadone down yesterday morning so i knew i was going to be a hard night.  of course i was thinking about drugs right up until i got to sleep around 3am.  then i dreamed of drugs.  i was hurt like when i got wounded and was not at my best. but i was preparing to fight some guy in a prisoner cage type fight.  but then i was going back and forth from that to having my fat ex and trying to get out of the house and away from her.  my usual punching and kicker were there.  i kept waking up every couple of hours until 930 when i got up.  i got my dose this am and am OK...which is good cuz i was cutting a frozen steak to get ready for supper tonight when i jammed on of the huge knives ma got me through my pinkie finger.  i think it has stopped bleeding but i have not taken off the bandage.  it is deep and C shaped with a flap of skin and white fat sticking out.  i pushed in the under skin and pulled the skin back over it then bandaged it.  it is going to hurt like hell when/if my dose wears out before i get my next one tomorrow.  i have that second skin glue stuff but that hurts like hell.  but if i cannot get the bleeding stopped i am going to have to try it
