Last time we went out, Kortz crashed   He was wearing full gear and had just a broken mirror, broken turn signal, and scuffed plastics to show for it.  We thought something was wrong with his front brake, since it was dragging a lot, and after checking the caliper, rotor, fluid reservoir, etc. we realized it was just a pebble that jammed under the brake lever to prevent it from closing.

It was the decreasing radius turn in the pic below, and our best guess is target fixation, because he wasn't too hot into the turn.  No injuries, and I think I was more shaken up than he was.  Anyhoo, after we helped him dig the bike out of a bush and cleaned it up, we realized what a great view this was and had to take the pic.  Bask in the glory of northern California!!!

Where about are you???  I'm in the REAL NorCal up in Eureka.  Looks like 101 north of san francisco or somewhere around there.  Try out highway 36 sometime and if you ever get a chance, go up to crescent city and  take highway 199 into oregon.  That road is fun but watch out for pine needles.
GS500E with a bunch of cool stuff!

This is in the Santa Cruz mountains, south of the bay.  True, not the real NorCal compared to your neck of the woods.   I've heard great things about hwy 36 but haven't made it up there yet.

Santa Cruz is right purty.  We did a camping trip down there on two wheels over the Labor Day weekend.

The kind of two wheels you have to turn yourself - but that counts, doesn't it?

I try really, really hard to avoid it.

If you had a 7 or an atom, you wouldn't avoid it   :)  Nice pics, as always.  I've been interested in bike camping but I'm def. not in shape for it.  Were you guys particularly sore during/after the trip?

Come out with us next time.  He'll give you a ride and you'll see why.  It's pretty ridiculous.
