Does the GS500 have a factory relay for the headlight?

I measured the voltage at my bulb harness and it was 13.4v at idle, higher when the throttle is blipped. According to the guy who sells relay kits, that number is unusually high, unless there is already a relay in system for the headlight. So do we? Or do our electrical systems just kick ass from the factory?

Mine is a 95' with 10,500 on the clock.

P.S. I replaced the bulb with a 55/60w H4 that claimed "50% more light", and sure enough, it seems quite a bit brighter. It's not that my light gets flung further, but everything in the field of illumination is more pronounced. I also did a proper headlight aiming calibration in a parking garage, which helped quite a bit. My high beams still go "up" instead of just further down the road, but I think they're supposed to do that. They're meant for fog, right?

Or 1) do our electrical systems just kick ass from the factory?

2) Mine is a 95' with 10,500 on the clock.

1) absolutely not. our electrical charging systems are weak, weak weak. you may have a voltage regulator that is about to crap the bed :(             13-15v (iirc) is normal for charging, it's the amperage it can produce that as pewney though.

2) a picture is worth a megabyte of words ;)

3) maybe that's so you can look waaaaaaaay down the road, or just so flashing it might grab the attention of the cagers about to cream you. i keep my light a little high, so in turns if i flick the high beam i get a beam a little further through the turn.

4) fog, nu uh, riding in fog = bad. if you ride in fog, attach flares, wear day-glo pink, and lay on your horn the whole time. fog tricks the brain into beliveing you are driving much slower than you are (and cagers too!) which is really unsafe.

now get on with those pictures ! :)
