Questions about 94 GSe

So we took the bike out for a test drive and one of the carbs tends to stick, the last owner rejetted the carbs and has added a Lunchbox filter. My father would like to put on OEM carbs but it appears some of the aftermarket carbs are cheaper. Also the rear plastic is cracked and needs to be replaced as well as the seat. We were looking to goto a bike junkyard and see if we can find replacement parts.

Do the newer model rear sections and seat almost drop in on the 1994 with little to no modification? Also what carbs should we look at for replacement. We are planning on replacing the exhaust, so I'm curious if we can get a full kit from a newer 05+ GSe to use.

Send your carbs to Buddha, he'll fix 'em up for cheaper than you could buy new...

Only pre 2001 plastics and seats will fit your bike without changing anything. The newer seats won't fit around the gas tank and the newer plastics won't fit on the older bike because the mounting brackets are different. If your plastic is cracked you could try using ABS solvent to weld it back...
