An,

I don't think the flag needs to say what the country is, You do.

I think this is quite doable. I'm sure the Greek club and the German club in my city both have relevant flags out the front. I know I see the Kiwi (New Zealand) flag all the time because there are a lot of "Bros" in Australia. And I know for 100% certainty the Irish Club has an Irish flag out the front.

Pretty sure Embassy's would have a flag of their country. We'd be pretty fine taking a photo of such a thing in Australia - but not of the US embassy of course. If it's fine for Google Street View it should be fine for us too.

Soccer clubs are usually linked with an ethnicity - Sydney Olympic is Greek, Marconi is italian, etc. And certainly the fans of such clubs usually wave their Country flag.

Ships in the harbor usually display their flag of origin. Don't know if you could get close enough. But still...

In different Ethnic Loaded suburbs you can always see a Flag somewhere.

Pretty sure flag shops display their wares in their windows.

Yeah. I think it's doable. Maybe not doable by tomorrow. But certainly doable.

This will be easy. I think accross the way from my house is a Jamaican flag out side of a "botanical" shop. (its been raided by the cops three times this year) Wonder what kind of botanicals they really sell!

I see this flag challenge NOT being done. :fact

I know at the U.N., there's a bunch of different flags, but I'm pretty sure they don't actually have a sign sying which country they're from.

Err, sorry... I can see how my challenge wasn't as clear as I intended.  The challenge has been reworded...

"Your bike with a real, full-size country flag (not regional or state), but NOT of the country that your are in.  State the country of the flag's origin when you post."

However, some people think the original challenge was doable, so feel free for the extra kudos.

I think Michael cleared it up for me, but I just wanna confirm...  The country name DOESN'T have to be visible in the picture, right?  We just have to state the country name in our POST.  Right?  If so, ignore my earlier comment.

Next challenge:
Your bike with a lighted ARROW on a traffic light... To clarify, some(most) lights have red, yellow, and green. If the light has more openings, fine... but ONE OF THEM has to have a lighted arrow... whether it's a red arrow forbidding travel in that direction, or a green arrow to permit travel or turns.

Well, for that particular set of lights, from that side of the road the light shown is the only one with an arrow. There were some spots I could park closer to the lights - but - the Sun Louvers would then hide the arrow. They are already starting to hide it from where I am. The cross road for that intersection has turning lanes which means I would be forced to park even further back.

The distance I parked was carefully measured using engineer level math and a theodolite. In the end, I said, this'll do as I parked under a shady tree where I could still see the arrow and not be in the way of any turning cars.  :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

Now come on. It's only been a few hours and the chimney challenge isn't complete. What gives  :dunno_white:

Chimney doesn't have to be on the roof of a house. A commercial chimney works too. Some might be tall and thin and have a metallic spiral going around them for strength, others could be tall and wide and appear to be stand alone like a powerstation smoke stack, others can be seen on the roof of food businesses. A metal heat treating business will have chimneys, so will a metal casting business. Brickworks too. Breweries. Commercial kitchens. Restaurants (for their kitchen). Refineries.

I live in a hot climate like you do. The weekend ride was in temps that were around 93 with today's temp to be between 84 and 88 (depending where in the city you live) and we aren't in Summer yet. So not too many chimneys on homes, but on industry... they need them for their work processes so they do exist.

Brrrr... we had HAIL yesterday.  Temps around 5 C expected - and we're not in winter yet.

I think I can get a chimney pic on my way to work in Stirling today, but might not be able to post until midnight (14 hours away).  Feel free to post earlier if you have one.

Yeah, I started to go through all the pages, but it was time consuming, so I never finished. lol

How about a picture of your bike next to an "antique" sports car? (ex: Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Cuda, Camaro, Vette, etc)

Will that work?

See ^^^^^^^  I would consider all those cars muscle cars

Well, I think where the issue was you said "antique". Which had already been done because I put the challenge out for "classic" which is pretty much a synonym. I am thinking any model year. I'd love to see a GS next to a Dodge Challenger SRT-4

Alright how bout this: Your bike next to a DODGE CHALLENGER SRT-4 extra points for the lime green with racing stipes yum!

Mary:

What size image are you uploading to photobucket? Cause I just checked and the size you show is the only size up there. With Photobucket you don't need to change the size. Upload the original size and it will make thumbnails by itself. Also, try Flickr.

Anyway... is the challenge a Muscle Car or the more Specific  Dodge Challenger SRT4?

And by muscle car do you mean American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s equipped with large, powerful V8s and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally and as described on the Wikipedia page about it complete with list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscle_car. Or do you mean something else? If it's that list you've excluded people outside of the USA. Outside of the USA had their own versions of a Muscle car not on the list shown on the Wiki but talked about a little. Australia had it's own versions, of course. But none have been built since the 1970's due to Emissions rules. And you now only see such vehicles at car shows and not on the street.

If you're changing the challenge to the Dodge Challenger SRT4 then you have excluded all but those in the USA as those outside do not have their own Versions (obviously, because it's specific) and nor are they sold in countries outside the USA that I am aware of.

I may be able to get a shot of a V8. Whether it classifies as Muscle or not is another matter. If I get it I'll describe what it is and let you decide. Unless the challenge is actually the Dodge in which case I'm out.

Mobile targets never work well.

There is no Challenger SRT4. SRT4 is Mopar's badge for performance 4-cylinder cars, like the Caliber and the Neon (the newest models of which aren't even called Neons, but are simply referred to as SRT-4). The Challenger does not have an option for a 4-cylinder. It is either a 3.5 V6, or one of two different V-8s. The better of these two, at a whopping 6.1 liters, is labeled as the SRT-8 (because it has 8 cylinders). And on a sidenote, am I allowed to still play the picture game even though I don't have a bike any more? After all, some bikes have bigger engines than this civic does . . . .
