Im thinking about painting my 2001 GS500 completely red or completely blue.  Currently its the stock blue with silver frame.
Im not sure, what are yalls opinion? :icon_twisted:

I dont know. What shade of blue? In my opinion, the only color that looks good alone is black. But do what looks good to you.

try to use paint or photoshop to see what it would look like before you do it. :thumb:

well my painting it completely I just mean the frame, plastic, tank, and wheels.  Im not gonna try to stand back with a spray can and paint the motor as well XD

I might just go the tried and true method of Painting the bike back to the stock blue, and powdercoating the frame black.

Btw Im thinking about getting a Laser Deeptone.  What do you guys think about that exhaust?

in late 90's there was a bike call RF900 the tank, frame and fairing are paint with same color! search it on the internet and get some idea about how it looks
A crash is the result of the rider's mistake, so don't blame the bike

A rider should be able to control the bike but not controlled by the bike, becuase on the track you don't want to DNF and on the road you don't want to lose you licence

Only the Red RF900's had the paint-matched frames...made them look solid. Always reminded me of Kaneda's bike.

i wanna see what you decide when its all done as i have an 02 in blue and was thinking the same thing. they look ok with a black frame.

Hey me too. I have the same year, same color scheme. I was thinking about black or a gunmetal color I saw someone paint their GS. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=44012.0 It really needs a change. The blue and silver is not very attractive imo.

Yea that blue and silver is a great combo. They made ford trucks that color, I have one and love it, I also did a 91 blue+silver+magenta body on my silver GS. Great combo. My 01 SV650 had that same color pair going too, eyepopping.
Cool.

I think same color is a great idea; however, the finish should be different. For the frame, I would do a flat or satin finish, for the tank and plastics, gloss.

Since you've got an E (2001 i'm guessing), doing everything gloss would force the eye to the tank  and rear  leaving the area in front of the motor and under the bike very sparse looking... especially if you're not running a chin-spoiler.

I especially love that red color on the 900, but imagine it without the large fairings and you're left with an awkward look. If you went with a darker blue; however, it'd be quite pretty. I'll try to photoshop something.
