Will engine braking activate fuel cut off?

I'm wondering if a 2000 GS500E can do a fuel cut off while engine braking.
I am guessing that it won't since it has no ECU but just to make sure...

Im not aware of that or it would have happened to me by now.  lol.  No I dont think it will.

ummm, in order to get 150 or more mpg, you need to have a scooter, the GS just wont get 100mpg while maintaining SAFE speeds on the road with the gearing mods you'd need to do.

The GS already gets really good mileage, even for a bike. Just ride it and have fun. If you find yourself unable to afford gas for the GS, go get a bicycle or ride the bus.

This required an 18 tooth front sprocket and driving at low rpms.

Yes, dangerous and inconsiderate in a car, suicidal on a bike. Besides, there is nothing you could ever possibly do to a GS that would let you get 3 times average fuel economy.

I meant 150 miles out of the 5 gallon. Right now I am only getting 140 miles...

Oh!  150 miles to the tank!  That's what i was getting until I got the carbs straightened out.  I had a vacuum leak and a clogged pilot jet.

REally?!?!?!  I get 220 easy before the reserve.  Unless Im pushin it hard in which case i have no idea how many miles per tank.  Youve got somethign going on there.

You shouldnt see anything shy of 200 miles per tank from a GS500 in good tune, they generally get insane fuel mileage as it is, like the kind that is only matched by the ninja 250.

I was getting 240 on 4 gallons (to reserve) on rides from here to Key West (140 miles one way). That is with my wife and I on it and with the saddle bags stuffed. Now with E10 we get 220, thanks Governer Crist.
