Does anyone have the Trail Tech Vapor installed with the indicator dashboard thing? I'm thinking of picking it up but wanted to see pictures and know if it was a huge hassle first. Thanks in advance....

it's not a huge hassle but it IS a hassle.  Unless trailtech now offers a kit specifically for the GS500 you're going to have to splice all the dash wires to suite the new dash lights.

Who needs dash lights, though?  My Veypor works awesome all by it's lonesome.

Thanks for the reply. Do you still have the indicator lights from the original tach/speedo on your bike, though? You know, the ones built right into the metal mounting plate the tach/speedo fit through? I wrecked that plate, so I'll have zero indicator lights without figuring something out. If you don't mind, can you maybe snap a picture of your setup? (I've probably seen it since I've searched through these boards like freaking crazy, but new pics of cool bikes are always awesome.)

It's hard for me to get pics up right now...all my online stuff is all screwy and I'm too lazy to fix it today.

However, I ditched all the lights and strapped the Veypor directly to the handlebar.  You lose the oil light, signal lights, neutral light, and high beam...the only one I worry about is the oil light, though, but I haven't conjured up a way to get it going that looks decent.

I put Acewell guages on mine this winter. Took a while for the splicing and so on but turned out alright. I ditched all the stock lights so I only use the ones on the gauges.  It's kinda nice having a left and right turn signal light. Tough to hide all the wiring though. Just takes some extra time with the zip ties.

^that's the biggest reason I just ditched the dash lights...I didn't want to hide all those damned wires.
