Hurricane Survivors??

So how many hurricane Survivors do we have back online today??

I'm online here at my brothers house . My basement is nearly pumped out now...tommorrow morning..I hope...   I had almost 6ft  of water in it...Storm surge came up past the house and the water side of the house foundation semi-gave way and filled my basement in less than 60 seconds.

The bikes are safe in the garage... they never gt wet...

Power is still not back on ( I have some power in the house... weird...panel must be half tripped...) I can't shut it all off til The basement is pumped out... The feed lines from the transformer to my pole put on an impressive show  and burned their insulation off...

Cable /internet is out ( low priority)... Hopefully the septic will get pumped tommorrow or monday and then maybe the electric and water treatment system/well can be brought back up....

Next after that is the Boiler (everything is boiler fired...) so I can have hot showers.....The oill tank broke loose too ( was time to fill it so it was mostly emtpty...so it floated away ( inside the basement..)


Just glad they have insurance on the place ( renting )....

Alot of people were alot less lucky (yes i said Lucky) than I was.... Could have been alot uglier....



Anyway I hope everyone that was in it is ok....

On a "funny " note I got to paddle around my front yard in a canoe yesterday...

Hope you will be back up n running soon.  I feel for anyone in a natural disaster, having been through the great Adirondack ice storm, and 2 earthquakes.  Mother nature just laughs her a** off at us sometimes.

We just got power back tonight. no big damages here, luckily, just the power was gone for a couple of days.

Yep, no basements in Florida either.
