Clip-on Bar Length?

ok so I had never actually seen 89 clip on's up close and in person before so when I got mine I assumed that there was a slight bent in both of them, it seems I was mistaken. so if someone could tell me the exactly length of a straight bar end that would be really great.

I am going to hack up my stock bars and if the ends arent long enough I will use straight pieces from them and cut out the bend in the clip-on bars and then add the straight metal back with some welding and will be as good as new. then finally bike will be good.

thanks bunches!

why not just buy a set of replacement clip-on handlebar.....bars

nice straight aluminum thick wall bar stock 10-11 inch in length

and hand file the notch in for the bolt (3 min job)

Ooooooooooooooo!     :icon_mrgreen:

I'll measure them in the morning, if you'd like.  I would be inclined to use 7/8" 4130 aircraft tubing of suitable wall thickness.  Cheap, net-dimension, easy to find.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

You need ~9 in to get the fittings to get on. An extra 1.5 to 2 in will let you run them away from the dash so the brake banjo dont hit the dash.
Cool.

Thanks much dude, I went off your specs and made the tube length 10.5" and it is 100% perfect fit, also I used my stock handlebars so the plastics parts fit back in the holes just like stock!
