GS conversions

Hey guys, I'm new here. I just picked up a GS500e and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. It would be great if a Suzuki wizard could tell us what parts from the bigger bikes could be made to work on the 500, swingarms, rims, headers etc. I rebuilt a harley with other guys take off parts.I have found some info on this but would like more. while looking, I drifted a little and was looking at the Vstrom 650. Has anyone turned their Gs into a V-strom like bike. if you look at the pics side by side and look at the specs, the GS500 would actually be a nice bike for this. its about 40 lbs ighter, it already has more adjustment in the rear shock than the vstrom has, clearance in close to the same. if you put a taller rim on the front like the Vstrom has, the clearance would be the same. I wonder if there is enough slack in the wires and cables to put taller bars on. Use the upper half of the F fairing and you'd be almost there.
