hello i have a question about my horn not working i went for a 4 hour ride on my 06 and on the way back i tried my horn to see if was working and press the button and it sounded like it just died it would not work so i left it sit over night and was going to check it this morning and it works fine could the horn be the problem thanks craftierod

Check for loose connections to the horn first.  There's a nut on the horn, if it get's loose will affect horn pitch.  If you've got a volt meter, set to volts, unplug the two wires to the horn and insert the tester leads.  Should read approx. 12v when pressing on the horn button.

my horn did the same thing on my 05 after a ride in a heavy rain.  then it started working again a few days later.  i never figured out what happened i just figured the horn got some water in it.  i never use it so i wasnt to worried about it.

Also, there's a screw on the back of horn that adjust's the contact's distance from each other.

I will be very surprised if the adjustment screw hasnt rusted solid by now.

Okay, well not to threadjack but I now have newer switch and 2 different horns. Both were tested before I installed them but neither will work while hooked to the bike.....

Make sure you are pressing the horn nice and hard. I thought mine was broke once, made the same dieing sound, just not pressing it hard enough. lol

at the switch and at the horn. mine went from bleeting like a stuck sheep to BLARING like a tiger.

Yes, this is yet another of dozens of times when WD-40 is your friend.  Diaphragm horns suck.  I've been meaning to replace mine, but it still works, so someday.  My last bike had the same horn and after 6 or 7 years it started intermittently sounding like it was dying.  Turned out it was full of dirt.  Took it off, loosened the nut in front so I could get behind it, sprayed the bejesus out of it with WD-40, let it soak in a cool whip container, sprayed it some more, wiped it down, put it back on, and it was fine.
