gs500e to f

i have a 93 gs500e and i now have the fairing, how can i install the fairing stay what do i need to do?

?? the fairing is from a 2005 gs500f please help

I know others have done it here but I didn't follow it.

It is way easier to go the other way. You just got yourself into a welding project, have fun. Search the forum, there are posts detailing the process...

The proper way to do this job is to sell the naked bike and buy the F model.

It's not too late. Sell the fairing. Sell the bike. Then buy an F model.

DONE!!

Or, keep your naked bike, sell that giant fairing that I despise, and put a nice quarter fairing and belly pan on it. Now, that's doable!

Notice I have a naked bike. I strongly believe that motorcycles, and women, are at their best naked!

i disagree with motorcycles should be naked. If they only made the gs naked i wouldnt have bought it.

I've never ridden an F model, and haven't spent much time on other bikes with fairings either. Given the amount of work I end up doing on my GS, I would probably get annoyed with taking the faring off every time I wanted to reach the engine pretty quickly. I personally like the look of the naked GS better, but I have considered getting a chin spoiler for mine... I agree with Bill that getting a chin spoiler and a quarter faring, both stock items at some point, would be an easier project. There are people who still make them and it would be way easier to install one of those than it would be to weld a bunch of mounts to your frame for the F faring.

i have a cafe fairing and it does nothing for me or the look of the bike, i find the fairing bounces around a lot and it can't be tightend anymore cuz it will crack what a piece of crap. i like the custom thing, life would be boring with out customizing
