gs500e mirror thread count?

Im wondering if anyone know what the thread would be if you put a bolt in the mirror threaded spot.  If anyone knows that would be great.  Im hoping its like 10x16 but im not sure how i can check it.  i checked on bikebandit but they dont tell you what it is.  I hope my question makes sence.

If you had an E, you could take off the mirror mount and try different bolts at the hardware store. Do the F bikes have empty holes where the mirrors would be on an E?

there are threads in the F modle as well i just dont want to take my bike apart again to find out they are the same or different.  Ill just get a set and hope the work or ill have a set for sale.  mary put honda goldwing mirrors on her gs so im thinking gs mirrors will fit on the vtr

If we are talking about the threaded boss on each of the handlebar controls its M10x1.0, sometimes called M10 Fine. Metric threads are not generaly identified by their TPI. The size is pretty much standard on all jap bikes and their mirror mounts........... Yamaha sometimes use M8 and Left and Right handed threads but thats another story.

In case you want more measurements I busted out the old tape measure and my sv boss (which fits gs mirrors just fine) is 16mm deep.  If you use aftermarket mirrors the depth won't matter anyway because the collar that locks the mirror in is adjustable.

I'm with sledge...they'll fit.
