I have an 08 .  I took to the dealership for my 12k maintenance.

1. They told me that soon my clutch will need to be changed because the slack in the clutch assembly is getting to the point that it cant be adjusted anymore? What is that? I thought the clutch was adjusted on the handlebar?

2. Do dealers have special tool to inform you the percentage used on the brake? Or they just eyeball and tell you what they think? reason i ask. at 4000 mile maintenance my front were at 60%.  At 12000 maintenance they proceed to tell me its at 70%.  It grew by 10% by me driving 10k miles. Holy crap i am so lucky. At this point i dont think i will ever have to buy brake pads again. So i was going to question the dealership but i wanted to make sure first that they are supposed to use a tool. Not just eyeballin.

Ryan, I seriously doubt your bike needs a new clutch, you have a rough adjust on the side case and a rough cable adjust on the cable housing and the adjustment at the lever. Next time your at my house I will show you how full of compost your dealer is  :whisper:
