Why be like all the rest :dunno_white:
Perhaps in time i'm gonna put on another disc, put for now, it's all looks, and i'm sure that it will brake just fine with just the one, it's 4 bigger pistons now, and only 2 smaller original, so stopping power is increased some.

That is great!  :thumb:

I was searching for a way to fit the GS wheel with a GSXR fork, to cut the cost down to something I could handle.
What did you do?
What about the brake, did you use an adapter plate, any shims or something?

tripleb

wow, thank God you got rid of that pink color.  it was harsh.  that headlight is pretty cool - where'd you get it?
lK&N unchbox w/ rejet with 140 mains, F-18 flyscreen, truck bed liner black, superbike bars with 3rd eye bar end mirrors, license plate rear turn signals, micro front turn signals

A welded stem is not actually that safe. However it is steel, and it could be welded up and work fine I guess.
Why didn't you just shorten it form the top.
Or press out the bottom and shorten it on the bottom.
Cool.

How'd that GSXR shock fit back there?  Did you have to mod it to fit and if so, what did you do?

The mascot of the GS500.. The creature that's got the biggest ugliest a$$ of them all.
A wombat. It's got a big ugly a$$ too.

Nice work, but sorry Pal, that colour...it reminds me of my Grandads Hearing-aid.

JB848

Personally I like the beige color it is unique even for a hearing aid. As for the head light it needs a little adjustment to fit the flow of everything else but over all I know that was a lot of work so good job!

shiznizbiz

yeah the headlight/fairing needs adjustment. I think is was smoother when it was mounted closer to the bike

interesting....

more pics of the rear shock. i have one just like it but a 04 or so. was wondering if the resevoir would interfere with the battery tray at all or the lunchbox.

close ups on the clevis?

Thanks for the nice words :)

1: the front wheel is the standard GS, with bearings to fit the 20mm front axle, the spacers are made from stainless steel, and took alot of messuring to cut right :icon_confused:
2: the front brake have 4,3mm spacers made of plain steel, with longer bolts.
3: the headlight needs adjustment yes, and are top priority(almost)
4: hearing aid??? well, at long as it its different from the rest, then i'm happy :D
5: the rear shock is on my to do list, and will be follow'd up in near future, as for fitment, the reservoir WILL interfere with the air filter, but a K&N lunchbox filter should sort that problem, but there should't be any other problems that i know of.. i couldt be wrong though :dunno_white:
6: the stem should be stronger now, there is a rod inside it, and when you weld, there area around it becomes stronger, its not the first time i done it, and other "experts" here in Denmark(where i live), have given me the thumbs up for it, the reason i diden't press the stem down, is that the bearing wouldent have enough to grip on to on the stem.

there might be interference on the lower link and the clevis since it's short, you may have to grind the lower link to allow for full range of motion or it might bind and block the suspension from fully extending.

Yea you have a rod inside the stem, and its all welded up, it should be stronger.
You dont have to press the stem in either really. Its is one option, and you can press it just enough and it will have enough to seat the bearing and still be short enough - I have done Kat stems that way.
But you can turn the bearing seating area, then cut threads in the top to take up the extra length. but I know only in regards to a katana stem, yours may have a different charactrestick all together.
Cool.
