QuoteUnfortunately, there is no way to make low and torque and high end power in the same engine.

Triumph daytona 675. three cylinder 675 cc. more power than the twins (120hp), more torque than the fours.  my next bike for sure.   :flipoff:

actually, what he's saying is completely correct. we're getting to the point we have to talk about oversquare vs undersquare engines as well. engine design is a complicated science and 20% pure magic. that 20% is mostly fluid dynamics.

Haha, you guys are taking this way beyond where I needed it to go. I think my first post where I actually got to get it all down in writing helped me clear it out a bit, before that I had only gone in circles in my head. I think I'd prefer a twin, but I have to admit I much prefer the noise of an inline 4 when it gets moving.

As far as the daytona engine, I've always loved the triples, and was always upset that the speed four came as a 4 cylinder when I had it, but either way after having that bike I'd never think about another bike that wasn't japanese, even if I loved the engine.

and what's wrong Buddha? Not crazy about everyone drilling holes in their top clamps?? I got a spare top clamp for my last bike and drilled it to mount some dirtbike bars on it. It came out pretty nice, I just put some washers on the back side to brace it. I ended up taking it off after about 3 days because I just couldn't get used to the riding position I had with them.
