Bike Bandit, NEVER again!

I have placed one order from Bike Bandit and they completely screwed it up.  They sent me the wrong sprocket.  I even called them just to double checked that I was ordering the right part and they "checked" it and said it was correct.  Wrong part number.  I also order two pairs of sunglasses with amber lenses, they sent me the smoke lenses.  I only wear amber, smoke is too dark for me.  I called them about the sprocket on Monday and they said it would ship right out.  Just got an e-mail today saying it went out this afternoon!  Why did it take 5 days to ship a part?

Never again, there are too many good places to buy from to put up with this crap.  I have ordered from 3-4 other online bike parts store and never had one problem.  Motorcycle Superstore, Newenough, etc.  All have been great but Bike Bandit just blew it.  I now need to check my oil filters to see if they are the right ones or not.  Probably screwed them up as well.  Mon Dieu!

See my other thread where I noted that BikeBandit can blow me.

P.S.

BikeBandit can blow me.

I've been using bikebandit since i got my first bike in '01.  They used to be fantastic, but in the last 2 years or so they have gone very very far downhill.  I still have to use them for now because they are the only ones who list oem parts for my old KZ and my old Yammy dirtbike.  I agree...they can blow me too.

Yeah, I just placed my first order with them and they butchered it, but I came out on top. Ordered 1 (set of 4) jets and they sent me a single jet, after I had contacted them that they shorted me 3 the lady I spoke to told me they would send the other 3 to complete the set... In a week 12 jets showed up at my door  :cookoo:

^^ Haha. Nice. That happened to me once when I ordered a TRD oil cap on ebay. I received the wrong one and he sent me 3 other ones until they got it right. I just turned around and sold them and made some profit aside from getting a free oil cap. :D

I wonder what the problem is?  It seems like the part numbers are incorrect on some things and other other times they just send you the wrong part.  My gear was the wrong part number, they admitted that.  The sunglasses were just mixed up.  I ordered the amber according to my receipt but they sent me the smoke according the number on the glasses.

If this hadn't been my very first order with them, I might have given them another chance but unless they have something that nobody else has, I think I will try my luck elsewhere.

They've done *ok* for me on most orders.  They did send a wrong o-ring gasket for my carb, and being the first time I'd been in carbs I didn't notice.  I had one order where I was replacing some stuff I owed Patrick and they took FOR - EEEEEEEE - VER getting the stuff there.

I ordered a couple indicator light bulbs from them the other day. I know people think they're awful, although I've never used them before. I had a hard time finding the right bulbs locally though, and I figured they were still my safest bet. I'll see how it goes.

i was about to order a jacket from them...think its safe or should i find it somewhere else?

Depends I guess. Have you looked on NewEnough.com. They got some nice Suzuki jackets for $89. I mean someone bought the jacket for me ( thanks gstwins) and it made it straight to me no probs. NewEnough gets  :thumb: from me many orders and not a problem at all!

+1 for newenough.com.  I have ordered a bunch of stuff from there and never once had a problem and they are helpful on the phone even with trying to find out more information about any of their items.

I have used www.cheapcycleparts.com many times without issue.

I'm not defending bikebandit but as for the time delay, most of these places are dealerships with online store fronts.  Like most local dealerships they do not stock GS500 parts.  When an order comes in they order the part from Suzuki and have to wait a few days to recieve the part themselves in their stock order (usually 3 days).  Then they have to repack and ship that part to you.

I have never had a problem with bike bandit, although I don't recommend them either. Its just that a lot of times they are either the only one with the parts or the cheapest. They offer 10% off for AMA members which is awesome.
+1 for new enough but they have the smallest selection ever. If you find something you want from them they are great.

Have ordered from bikebandit twice.  No problems.  Have ordered from New Enough... at least 5 times.  No problems.

About the jets and similar screw-ups:  Those kind of things just show that the people working there know nothing about what they are selling.  Not their fault, mind you, but that's what happens when the business grows.

Hmmm, NewEnough seemed to have a pretty big selection to me. Especially the Bargain Basement you can get some good deals in that section. $7 Power Trip gloves had me sold ended up being $12 with shipping but hey still!

The dealerships here in O-town didn't have any Joe Rocket apparel. Bout all you get around here is CorTech or one or two other brands!

newenough has a good selection of apparel but their parts selection is alot more limited especially for parts that fit the GS without modification.

I just ordered 2 sprockets and a chain from them with no problems. Real fast delivery

Bikebandit is a huge outfit with warehouses all over the country.  Depending what you order and where you live, it may show-up really fast or take a week and a half.  Sometimes things have to be back-ordered and of course that takes longer.  My experiences with them have been mostly good, but I've learned not to bother ordering anything that's on clearance, particularly apparel.  It's all size small or after you order it they tell you they ran out.  I've ordered items that were advertised by email and even though I ordered mere minutes after receiving the email they told me two days later they were all gone!  I HATE THAT!!!  :2guns:
