So it's a bit of a long story. My wife passed her MSF about 2 years ago and I bought her this GS500. I love the bike. Then 18 months ago I wrecked my BMW R1200GS. Spent 3 days in a coma and was given less than 10% chance pull through. So my wife gave up completely on riding. The bike sat for 15 months in my shed. My niece just passed her MSF. So I gave her the bike. Man was it in rough shape. Once the dealer they took it to got the mice out of it and got it started she rode it around a bit. But it kept stalling on her and leaving her stranded. So this past weekend she bought a Ducati Monster and the GS is back. It leaks oil and gas like a mofo. I love the bike and would like to keep it. But I just don't have the time, the tools or the talent to get it running reliably.
It does have new tires, front brakes and a battery. It also has a Corbin seat
Asking price? $0, nothing, nada, ziltch.
First come, first served. Just come get it.

I'll post some pics later.
I'm located in Poolesville Md.

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you're doing alright!

Thanks guys. I'm fine now. The wreck happened about 18 months ago on a Friday commute home. Saturday afternoon they were telling my wife to "make arrangements" or to expect years worth of rehab. You know, the kind where they reteach you to swallow and brush your teeth. Yeah, that kind. Monday morning I woke up, asked for ice cream, and called my wife asking her what the hell am I doing in here and where the hell is my bike. Tuesday I was released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Been back to commuting year around on the bike for about a year. All is good.

Thanks guys.  If I were in it for the money I wouldn't have been a gubmint worker. :D. Seriously though I wouldn't feel right charging for something that's in such rough shape. And I figure: what goes around comes around. You know the karma thing.

The Buddha is on his way. Should be here around noonish.

Glad to hear you are ok Rick!!

Buddha- If you part out that bike let me know what you want for the seat.  Thanks

And it's gone. The Buddha picked it up a couple hours ago.

So your niece rides a Ducati Monster.... is it inappropriate to ask if she's single??   ;)  :D

And you wanted stuff off his bike ... shame on you.

:D ... made it 10:20 pm or so Rick, nice meeting you, Conan Lloyd's old posts etc I have to look back and see what ever we did ...
The tank coating still holding up ... I couldn't wait till I got here to see that ... opened it up as soon as I got on the ferry.

Oil leak ... schmoil leak ... this bugger better run tommorow, else its gonna get tortured till it does. Just kidding, but I'll go into the valves and carbs and then it better run ... I am hoping to get a good assesment of what it needs before launching into the motor big ...

This was the first time meeting someone who had been in a coma for me. Very cool, should'da sat and talked a while, but 400+ miles of fog and traffic beckoned.
Cool.
