Why does the oil burn away in the GS? Engine oil should not burn....
I remember it came up previously on the forum to always check you oil level, in any type of vehicle...but this GS oil levels really do drop...is this normal?....its an 07
I would have too be fair and admit that I do run it on high RPM's too much of the time

DoD#i

A certain amount of oil gets past the piston rings and is burned - they don't make a perfect seal. Air cooled engines need sloppier tolerances than water cooled engines, as they operate at a wider temperature range - and high RPMs aggravate oil consumption. Relax, check the oil, and add as needed.
