i just picked up a new bike so i'm gonna let the gs500 go.  i rode her for about 6 years and we had a blast together.  i tore her down to the frame and built her back up so we know each other well.  i hadn't really planned on trying to sell her until spring but i thought i'd give the folks on gstwin the first crack at her.  the bike is in arlington, va and has a current va inspection.  i'd like to get about $1575.

it's a 1990 bike, the frame was media blasted and painted black and it has the updated 2001+ style plastics, tank and seat.  belly pan, bar end mirrors,  shorty turn signals, and fender chop

clip-ons on and fork clamps from the 1989 model, progressive fork springs, katana rear shock

wileyco exhaust,  k&n pod filter (and jetted appropriately).  

nelson rigg cover, tons of spare parts, nuts, bolts, oil filters, etc.  i've also got a wider katana rear wheel with rotor & cush drive, and spare front wheel that i was going to strip the paint off and put on.  i think it's got about 11-12k miles on it but i have to check the odometer.

she's not perfect, but looks pretty decent i think, and runs well after she's had a chance to warm up.  regularly gets about 55-60mpg.

12,024 on the odometer this morning, but should have another 200 or so by the end of the day tomorrow.

some pics, and one crucial mod i forgot to mention.... the cigarette lighter mod.  12v outlet installed in the frame where one would normally remove the plastic plug to access the top bolt of the rear shock.  great for plugging in your GPS.

Sold!  Thanks everyone for all the great info over the years.  I sent the new owner this way, so hopefully he'll turn up on the boards.  She will be missed.  Maybe I should have negotiated for visitation rights?
