If it was a better time of year that'd  be a nearly free bike for you.... Buy both- fix and sell one for 300$ or so (the blown motor one...buy a used motor somewhere.). Keep the newer one.... and work on getting a title-Get a notarized bill of sale from him at the very least.


If it was closer I'd  take a whack it it with a lower offer.  I have an engine here in a project I could pull out in a half hour to drop in that 90....(That's 1990 color/bodywork.... production date is probably late 89 and that's what he looked at for posting his add- some 90's had clip ons.....).

yea.. i was merely thinking of picking it up (but don't have the funds) because my current bike has a mystery oil leak and i wanted to tear it down sometime to isolate, attack, and mend it. Otherwise replace the engine all together and have the leaky one on stand by while it gets torn down completely and shoehorn some bigger pistons. Less downtime... It would have been fun to have a parts bike handy to build up or tear down for folks on the cheap since it's practically given away with he running GS.
