if you are at kadena or futemna then you can have a friend send you something from the states. If thats not an option then post office is the cheapest because you only pay for shipping to san francisco and the military picks up the rest of the tab.

The first set of wires (brown & black/white) go to nothing on a US bike. They are for a front parking light on euro-spec models. Listed as "sidelight" on wiring diagram. Handy as a source of switched power for accessories.

I dont understand cause it is a US spec bike

They don't go to anything. We get the same wiring harness as everybody else, but one less light, so they are not connected to anything. Very simple.

well after waiting over a year I finally got the money from the insurance company $1,600
The guy thats going to fix the bike says I should get the carb and brakes rebuilt cause it sat for a year, the carb is a good ideal and I already got the jet kit from The Buddha. Do I really need the brake seals replaced if they are not leaking?

also good info on where to order these kits would be great!

Looks like thins are finally starting to come together! The bike shop said it should be about $1,300 to fix. Ordered a Vance&Hines pipe, new helmet, and starting to get the other little things needed.

Should be back on the bike in a month if the frame fix goes as planned.

I wouldn't worry about rebuilding the brakes, but bleeding them with some new brake fluid would probably be a good option. V&H exhausts look so nice when they're new. It looks like yours is like mine as well... when you hold the exhaust up how it will be mounted, does that tip at the back end curve in towards the bike slightly instead of down? I assumed there was something wrong with mine, but maybe they just make them  all like that.

What front end did you decide to go with? A couple people here are just finishing up some USD gsxr front end swaps and they all look great.

already had the brakes rebuilt, cost like $75 for calipers and master cyl all around

not sure about the tip, bike is still in the shop

I stuck with the stock front end, it was just so cheap for all the parts. Also I didnt want to have to get parts from all kinds of bikes to do future repairs if needed

also have a question...i know the bar is 7/8". I am in need of new grips but dont understand how both grips can be 7/8'' cause the throttle has to be bigger then the bar...that means the right grip has to be larger

my GS has been at the shop so long I have forgot what it looks like and also cannot just go look at it myself to answer this question.

Do you have the grips with you, and you see that they're both 7/8ths on the inside, or did you buy some and saw the package said "for 7/8 bars"? Your right that they can't both be 7/8ths, and the right needs to be bigger, but if you're just curious because the package said they were for 7/8th bars then they have already factored in the throttle tube, as all bikes with 7/8ths bars have the same size throttle tube.

The only difference might be if you accidentally picked up some grips for a quad than has a thumb throttle, but that's pretty unlikely. As long as they're meant for a motorcycle you'll be set.
