Does this mean you get to see the stig ?

Some say, when you tune to 86.9 FM you can hear his thoughts. They sound very much like a motorcycle running through the gears.

BTW any one know or have a guess ... fine I'll start its own thread.

Have fun TGG.

OK then you need to find out who the stig is.
Here is what you can use.
Wear lots of steel, like belt buckle and other stuff.
Then make sure you get to his left side, and the magnetic hand should pull you right in. That point, knock his helmet off. Now if his head comes off with the helmet, we just have to then catch it and open it. Yea, cool.
Git'r done.

Keep us posted, good luck. weather here is fairly warm, very warm by our standards for this time of year (mid sixties F, upper teens C) but that is forecast to end this weekend so it could be a bit chilly in a month and probably wet.

Oh I will keep you posted. I dont mind chilly weather, wet not so much. But whatever I'll bring an umbrella and get on with it.

50-60's isnt bad. Its not cold. I wear a teeshirt in that weather if there is no wind. Today its in the 60's here in Los Angeles.

In anticipation of me going to the UK. I need to brush up on British road rules. I plan to rent a car while there and drive around. Any sort of DMV type handbook available for road rules. I adjust pretty easy from LHD to RHD and vice versa, and I can drive stick. I have a US Class C M1 California license (May have a class B from work too but most likely it will be by the end of the year).

All I found is something on road signs, which is more than helpful but a DMV equivalent book would be nice.

To give you an example this is what CA DMV has for Cars.

http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/dl600.pdf

Since I am renting a car, what about insurance issues. Seems like most cars come with comprehensive coverage. Do I need additional coverage? What about GPS units and Radar Detectors (unfortunately my Escort 8500 isnt a Ku band one).

This is the full Monte on UK roadsigns and rules...

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/index.htm?cids=Google_PPC&cre=Highway_Code

Obviously I live here and drive on the left all the time but I make about half a dozen trips into mainland Europe per year and drive on the right, the best advice i can give you is simply "keep the kerb on your left shoulder"  from my experience of driving/riding the "wrong way" the places you are most likely to make errors are

1)Comimg from a minor road into a bigger one and looking the wrong way.
2) In one-way systems in towns especially when turning back into a two-way system.
3) Turning right
4) our roads make great use of "roundabouts" or traffic circles I think you call them. They are normally well signed in advance, ease up and observe and give way to traffic already on the roundabout which will be coming from your right.

It's pretty easy really, honest, just take a little more time and look BOTH way TWICE!

Speeds limits, generally in towns 30mph, two lanes roads 60 mph, roads with a central division 70 mph, You will also find that in some residential areas, around schools etc sometimes 20mph, usually very well marked, some town roads are 40 mph and some country roads (twistees) have a 40 or 50 limit.

You'll be OK but remember whoever Stig is, it ain't you.
