There was a thread where people post pics of how they get around the need for specific tools such as using a car coolant overflow tank for a temp. gas tank while the tank is removed.  One member in particular had several interesting ones. Can some one give me a link or if you know another website with the same idea.

If not I would like to start one.  I'm sure many people have their own ways of solving problems without spend a lot of money.  I use the coolant overflow tank, works great.

Ok I don't have a picture of it...

I use an electric Hoist in my garage to work on the bikes... I sling the front end up with a heavy webbing strap -around the frame or triple/sometimes the bars between the clamps...depends on the bike/if gas tank is still on it. I can pull front ends off /use it to keep the bike vertical  while I work on whatever.... I even use it to lift the back of the bike up to change tires etc... Hell Sometimes I  use it to lay the bike over sideways some to get at things easier....

Spent under $100 instead of the 7-900$ Platform lift I wanted (Yeah there are cheaper platforms....but the one I want is close to $900 ).

No platform to trip over...though I'd love to have a real lift sometimes...Bigger garage first.
