You can really tell Jeremy Clarkson hates motorcycles, but it is a funny article worth a read had me cracked up for about 10mins  :thumb:

That wasn't bad.

But was I the only one that was reading it in his voice?

No! I did that too. He obviously knows at least a little bit about motorcycles, I don't think he hates them quite as much as he leads on. Thanks for the article!

It was pretty amusing, but I'm at work so I'll have to finish reading it later since it was getting a bit long.

I was kinda confused by this part:
"Next: the controls. Unlike with a car, there seems to be no standardisation in the world of motorcycling. Some have gearlevers on the steering wheel. Some have them on the floor, which means you have to shift with your feet — how stupid is that? — and some are automatic. "

How many F'ing times have I gotten in a car and turned on the windshield wipers when I tried to put the turn signal on, or pulled the emergency brake when I tried to put the car in gear, put an automatic window down when I was trying to adjust an automatic mirror, turned on the heater when I wanted to turn up the radio, I could go on for days.... Cars have so many different variations than bikes do as far as gear knobs, emergency brakes, windshield wipers. I however, have never seen a bike that wasn't completely standard as far as all the gears and controls, with the expception of some bikes having a 'passing light' switch on the left side while others do not. Scooters are different because some are automatic, but I guess that's something you deal with more in Europe than here. I've never seen anything that has a shifter on the handlebars though.

This however, was very amusing:
"I'm told some bikes come with footstools which can be lowered to keep them upright. But then you have to lift the bike onto this footstool, and that's like trying to lift up an American. " even though he isn't the skinniest guy around.

I didn't have any idea who he was, but after I googled him, I do remember seeing him test drive this thing on TV, don't remember what it was, I just remember his face doing this...

Well, Jezza IS skinny after all. He simply swallowed a whole watermelon without slicing it, that's all. :icon_mrgreen:

BTW I read his articles on TOL every week, very funny ones. ;)
