Gas in one float bowl, but not the other

I'm thinking it might be some crud blocking float needle.  Anything else I could check before pulling the carbs?  Fuel flows to filter with no problem, and comes out of right side drain screw with no problems.  I am running Pingle petcock, vacuum shouldn't be a problem as fuel IS flowing from the tank, just not to left float bowl.

Bike ran fine until valve cover started leaking oil on Saturday.  On Sunday I resealed valve cover gasket and bolted everything up again.  Could some oil crud have gotten into carbs?  Seeks unlikely since I have stock airbox/filter in place.

It seems that almost all of my problems have been Carbs or Fuel Delivery related.

Oh man, I pulled the airbox and it's lined with oil.  The oil must have come in through the opening at the bottom of the box.

Well, I was planning on rejetting anyway this weekend.  Guess a thorough carb clean is in order yet again.

I don't remember an opening at the bottom, unless you're talking about the tip where the drain hose connects.

I suspect that the oil was coming from the valve cover breather hose instead.

Well the oil leaked from the valve cover .... that was a different problem.  The oil got into the airbox at that drain hose opening - I never reconnected the hose there and now it's come back to haunt me!

Oil cannot get into the airbox from the hole in the bottom... not unless you left the hose un connected and drove through waist deep oil.... .
It comes out of the valve cover vent on the top. especially if you over fill it, and there is some compression blowing past the rings. Anyway leaving that hose off the bototm hole lets in unfiltrered air and will screw up your jetting. Valve cover leak also is a sign of compression blowing by. Left float bowl not getting fuel couls also be a issue in the line. See if the float needle lets in fuel (cos if some crud was there it'll keep it from closing not keep it from opening), but blocked T fitting etc will keep it from filling up.

Yeah, a certain amount of oil in the air box is normal. But anything more than a coating probably means it was overfilled.

One carb with gas and the other without almost absolutely indicates the float valve is the problem.  Take it apart and make sure its not sticking or binding or that the metal tang on the float isn't bent up to far.
