Looks great! Wrapping aluminum foil around the midpipe definitely sounds way easier than welding the pipe on, good thinking. :thumb:

Seriously though, what kind of welder did you use? I just have a Vance&Hines on mine, but I'm hoping to cut and re-angle my exhaust up a bit so it's at more of a natural angle, I was just got to cut thin wedges out of the top of the midpipe where it curves and bend it back together, similar to what you did with your torque bar, only in the opposite direction.

I love the way you've flush mounted the rear indicators, very cool! I've thought about doing the same thing myself, but I'm kinda scared of cutting holes in my fairings.  :embarassed:

Go for it.
You've got nothing to lose.
Just replace it with an entire bike from the For Sale section for like $25 and some old carpet remnants.

The foil tape is just to stop the leaks until i can get my exhaust to my friend. He works in a bike shop and owes me a favor, so free weld up. under the tape I tacked it so it would hold together.  I use a Century 80GL wire feed MIG at work. The problem I have with it is the wire is thin and it's got too much power for exhaust pipes. I tried on a piece of scrap to run a solid bead and it just blew through. Tacked ok though.

Was actually really easy. I took the covers off the signals and marked the screw holes with a Sharpie. Used a drill bit that fit the the mounting holes for the mounting screws to go through and a larger one for the wires to pass through.  Too me 15 mins to install. And I'm REALLY happy with the way they look.

The only thing I have now is one of those $150 wire feed welders from HF. I'm not assuming it would be good enough to get through the midpipe of my exhaust, but I bought it a month or two ago and haven't even tried it yet, so I have no idea what I'll be able to do with it. I just bought it to learn on, and what I figure it out I'll buy a better one. Either way once I actually have the ability to weld something, whether it's on this one or on my next one, I'm going to try to redo the exhaust, whether it's just angling it up, adding some more pipe to make it a highmount, or even going crazy and mounting it under the motor. I'll also redo the subframe so it lines up with my tail better.
