Alright guys I got a 89 gs500e. I wana turn it Into a streetfighter. But I want a little more "juice". I installed a yoshi slipon. What I wanted to know was how much of a difference would u feel with a pipe, k&n filter and a jetkit? I know i

But this is all straight line speed. What about cornering speed?

I think for additional cornering speed, maybe something like a Batmobile Grappling Hook GH). It shoots out, wraps around a tree or something, stops the centripetal force flinging you out, then magically retracts back into the bike in readiness for the next corner.

And after the R or T, you need to upgrade the B.

So add an R or T, upgrade the B and install a GH and you too can impress your unknowing friends with jargon use  :thumb:

Well, truth be told,... not much. You can throw a ton of money at it, and the difference will still be... not much.

As far as power goes..umm..air cooled carburetion..yeahhhhh...have fun getting out much power. Get a busa if you want power. The gs is just a fun, modifiable,easy to throw around in the curves bike to me. To each his own i suppose.

A pipe, K&N, and jets will give you a few more HP and will sound a lot better.  The best way to add power is to bore it out and install bigger pistons, but it's somewhat expensive and not very easy.  If you want significantly more power than you have now you're better off buying a different bike as others have said.

Dave Johnson has a thread on this site about road racing his GS 500.  He says adding more than about 10 HP to the GS "costs a Subaru".

wait, rocket and turbo were the serious answer?  :dunno_white:  lol i thought that was just a joke. well seeing as how a rocket wouldnt actually increase engine power, it would just be a seperate supply of power, i gotta vote turbo!  :flipoff:

The only true way to increase the power of the GS is to first buy the model that had the Magic installed.

Then, on the third full moon after the Summer Solstice, take it to a newly harvested field, set a ring of agates around it. Then recite the 2nd paragraph of the 51 verse of The Book of Molich as kept by custodial methods by the keepers of the ancient scrolls of Molex.
