What I wanted to know was how much of a difference would u feel with a pipe, k&n filter and a jetkit? I know it probly won't be crazy power but would I feel a big difference? Thanx!

And no.  It'll be like a vibrator w/ AA's instead of AAA's...  Ur gurl can ride it all day and night and still think its not big enuf!

BaltimoreGS

It won't increase power but if you want to be faster off the line you could get a smaller front sprocket.  Don't quote me on it but I believe Buddha has said that you get better power out of the stock header pipe with a slip on than you do with the current aftermarket exhausts.  You may want to check with him on that one.

Its been said before:
If you want a GS to really GO, modify it by swapping everything except the fuel cap with parts off a 4 cylinder sportbike.

What is funny now that I think about it is that bikes don't have CID, they are CC?!  lmao

CID or CC can apply to any bike engine, just different units of measurement.  A Savage 650 with a 650cc engine is now called a Boulevard S40 referring to it's  40 cid engine.  40 cid equals 650 cc approx.  The US does it their way and the rest of the world does it the right way.   :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

They're all units of measurement for displacement. Just metric and standard. Harleys being domestic have CID, everyone else has CC's.

My Harley buddy standing right behind me has a 1340 CC Elictric Glide Harley?!  The Harley Sportser is a 1200 CC, etc...........

Everyone does CC, yet some Harleys are CID.  CC is more common to any bike!

In that case it's all about marketing to the Harley wannabe crowd. Harley riders thrive on originality  :icon_rolleyes:

Anyway, I voted for 'R" cause I like r's better than t's.

mister

The Boulevard range uses CID.... C50 M50, C90 M90 and C109 M109 - C standing for Classic and M for Modern. Essentially the same bike but the Classic has boards not pegs and an exposed front headlight, while the modern has pegs and a small cowl over the front headlight. There are some other small differences to Sleek up the modern.

The CID of them is... 50 = 800cc, 90 = 1500cc and 109 is 1800cc - roughly, of course, as most bikes bump their number Up (Except the Honda CB900 which has actually 919cc).

Yeah... if you want a more powerful GS500, get something with more power to begin with (GSR6, SV650, etc.) and put GS500 stickers on it.  :thumb:

WHAT DO R AND T STAND FOR!?

and i go by cc. cause everyone else does pretty much. ci is for cars. or liters for muscle cars. but bikes, cc come on.  and dont use the D and the end. thats just nerdy.

AGAIN, WHAT IS THE R AND T FOR?!

BaltimoreGS

And for the metric-ly challenged Americans, 1,000 cc = 1 liter.  So our bikes are .5 liter (technically .487 liter).
