I just bought a 2001 bandit 600 and I suspect the carbs need to be cleaned.

I am wondering if there are any general tips and/or specific things to look out for on Bandit carbs.

The bike starts and idles fine with the choke but any increase in the throttle kills the bike.

Once warm it idles at 3000 rpm with choke but dies with no choke.

If you pin the throttle while you start it with no choke it works fine and as long as you keep the revs above 5000 you can actually ride it.

Anything below 5000 rpm while riding and there is no power, you have to pull the clutch and get the rpm back in the 5000 range in order to accelerate.

Clogged pilots? mains? I'm open to suggestions.

low rpm is usually pilots. Id bet those are clogged up.
