and this mornings' shots, a little clearer. it's a complete bike, minus wire harness and the pieces that have rusted off. apparently there was a disassembly process once, and someone just clipped all the wires. i guess actually disconnecting things was too difficult. GRUMBLE. just the same, it's in good shape for as old as me, and should keep my project hands happy for a few years.... or i'll kill it off on ebay for free money :D

if snapple is still bottling in when I finish this (if I finish this) I"ll christen it with a bottle or six :-)
Check back in 3-4 years ;-)

Aren't you the guy who's wife got tired of your bitching about working on the GS, so she said "just buy a better bike"?

They (think they) smell a bargain, or they smell a quick buck chopping it and ebaying the parts.

Then again, the ability/inclination to fix stuff is at such a low level in the general populace that you can often get some really trivial to fix stuff for dirt cheap or free. Then again, you can also get things that will suck time and money and beat you with a stick and never work.

Needs 2 more cylinders to be a good CB350, doesn't it?   :icon_mrgreen:

Looks like a fun project, my wife said the next bike she'll get will probably be a cafe racer project, so I'm thinking a 350 would be a great size for her. Are the 350s pretty much the same size as the 125s, or are they build up bigger?

i'm guessing about the same. don't know, but sitting on the cb350, it's TINY. but i'm 6'4"... no, it's tiny with min-me on it. only person that makes it start to not look like a circus act is mini-me-female-version. she's not yet 2 years, so she doesn't count yet ;)

i'm salivating over klr's and such now, so i'm thinking it's going to go away fast... before the harness gets here ? LOL

3-4 years....your kidding me. Ive taken apart upwards of 100 of those bikes, gotten about 6 to run after being stuck. Pull your carbs and see if there gummed up, if there not slap 'em back on. Change the oil, clean points, change plugs, adjust timming, and set valves. Run a wire from the batt to the coils. Kick it over and check spark......if you got spark she'll start. These things are tanks! I most of the time- just change the oil, put just a little in the cylinders and kick it over about 20 times, put plugs in, and hot wire it and see if it fires first. 80% of the time they will start. Most drop a coil and no spark and thats when they sit. Let me know if you need parts/help. These bikes like newer sport bike pipes when you make them 2 into 1. Ducati monster mufflers sound real nice and are cheap! let me know if you want some pics and instructions how to turn your stock pipes into a 2-1. Where are you at? just sold 3 runners last week.....

And yes way way big difference in a 125 and a 350.....350s are small big bikes if that makes sense

CB350F SUCK! You've never owned a CB350 twin and a CB350 four if you think the 4 is better These twins are built better than any other bike.

Im starting into a CL175 build tonight thats going to be a on road/off road cafe' racer scrambler...ever seen one? Doubt it....im going to start to build about 1-2 honda twins a month mostly cafe' scramblers

cool man, thanks for the information. 3-4 years is at my current pace. work is afternoon/evening, when the weather permits, depending on the kids, etc.  - and at my pace, it's slooooow. i'm not saying it needs that much, just that i'm not doing much consistantly. if you have spare throttle /choke brake and clutch cables, i'll buy em off you. oor if you know a good supplier, please pass on that info. we're talking everything from fuel lines to misc bolts and nuts are missing here. complete basket, and i'm going to need a headlight, taillight, everything except the wheels, frame, tank, and forks. LOL it's gonna be fun though. taking my time. can't wait to hear it kick over and fire. :)

to answer your question: i'm in birmingham, alabama. i'd love to follow your cb builds for information that seems common to you after all those builds. linky ? thanks again :)

wire harness came in today, but i'm beat from work, and tomorrow will likely be a 12-16 hour day. i'm not making excuses, i'm just stating the current state of sleep vs afterwork work-- know what i mean. :)

wire harness arrived today, along with the wifes new super-duper clothes washer ,so we're both stoked. :)

going to go outside in a bit and see how it strings/things. the guys @ work are excited to see the freebie bike run/ride.
